Looks good.
Seems to need a little work, but not too bad for a 2 door.
Can't wait to see the wheels on it!

13x7 I think zero offset, or pretty close to it.
Kinda like jelly beans but slightly different, I'm not sure exactly to be honest

me to ! what a great little track car can be made out of one , mind you I would look at building it to IPRA spec
and boy would that be fast as a turbo car in improved production
the perfect engine would be a 4g61 turbo --- 300 + hp in a very light car

You have to do a lot of work to make the rearend work properly with that type of HP in IPRA.............

Distance between the rail and axle tube is the main drama, whilst trying bring the ride height down and keep some form of suspension travel.

It looks like its a better car to restore than turn into a racer...... That interior is almost untouched as from the factory.

axle tramp would be the biggest thing to fix - but that can be done
you wouldn't need to drop the height of the car a lot but widening the track would be a must
to cut down weight transfer

yes it would be a great car to restore

Axle tramp is fixed with a pair of upper arms facing rearward, so you don't cut into the floor and a set of decent adjustable shocks.

Scorpion/mazda 929/bluebird/etc...... diff is plenty to widen the rear track, about 100mm from memory. But you will need flares with those offset wheels.

Panhard rod is a must do mod, as well.

or a set of tramp bars - and maybe stronger front half leaves , anything to stop the front of the leaves winding up
and yes panhard or watts link
another over looked item to help with tramp is an engine steady link to stop the engine moving
it also creats some tramp

mind you even the 4g32 for hillclimb some of these issue will come up - that start with grippy tyres will have axle tramp
with out doing some work to fix it

there was a pic of the tramp bars we put on Karls baby sh!t brown galant some where way back on the site
that fixed up the tramp issues he had

ill look into all the suspension upgrades later, for now its going to be lowered about 30-35mm with king springs cause its easy and cheap.. unless i can find a good 2nd hand set up in the next few weeks or so that is (dont like my chances)
its not going to be all that fast i dont think, just fun.. ill keep building it up slowly and driving it in the mean time i guess.
i might have to come see cheaterparts to try to get a baffled sump out of him at some stage though :)

Tidied up the engine bay a little, re fitted the loom and had a look at why the headlights didn't work, found the switch wire came from the starter motor, explained a little.. Ha ha
So next job is engine back in, fit the no.5 cam, reset the valves and tune the new carbies. Then drive it to get the cage made/fitted

Spent another hour in the cave today.. modified throttle cable to fit, refitted a few panels, fitted radiator.. Couple of little bits to go and it's ready to start.

Alright, all the lights are working, engine is tuned pretty well but I haven't driven it yet so I'll give it a final tune once I get the new exhaust on..
Gotta do the suspension, fit all the new bushes and move the fuel pump into the boot then it's ready for the cage
