GD 2.6 Track car

Post by Goodwin191 »

Hi guys I thought I would start a build post on my GD track car
I saw this car in the bush on my way to work then I finely offered her $50 and got it for $80 (score) it had a 1600 motor in it with the head in the boot I got the car home my brothers helped my pull the motor out and dropped my brothers 1600 in and away she went soon got sick of the 1600 then project started..

I had a rebuilt 2.6 with a magna head in the shed ready to go dropped in in along with a cooler Chinese t3/t4 turbo 780cc injectors 80mm throttle body my brother had to do some cutting and shutting to fit the inlet manifold made up a basic turbo manifold 14psi external waste gate 2.5'' dump pipe yet to finish the rest of the pipe I have a adaptronic ecu yet to wire up and have to plum up fuel lines then she should be good for a run I will go into more detail with build as it goes on..

pics pics pics! the fact that you got it for 80 bucks will compensate for any dents i reckon. i like that colour too, real 70s looking it is.

I'd straighten out the worst of the dents like the guard with a hammer and dolly, hit it with some rust converter to stop the rust, and leave it. That would make it an awesome sleeper.

Not sure about the housing i'd like to get about the 200kw mark. not sure how long the turbo will last might have to invest in something better later down the track
have you made any progress on the lancer and coupe
