Mic_77 Galant coupe

Post by mic_77 »

Thought it was about time I put up the build pics of my latest project this is how it started
http://www.sigma-galant.com/viewtopic.p ... lant+coupe
It has since been stripped to a bare shell sand blasted and epoxy primed after this it was sent to Paul Testa for a few mods before paint the mods then snow balled and the vehicle was with Paul for a month or 2 it recieved tubs kirkey seats seam welding and all the other mods to fit the intercooler aswell as the 2.6+c4 combo luckily this shell is a auto so the tunnel was very accomidating for the c4.

After this the car was sent for an ANDRA spec 6point cage after the cage it was of to the panel beaters where the shell was placed on a rottisseree the 2 tiny spots of rust that were in the car were welded up aswell as all the moulding and badge holes the engine bay was also stitch welded and all non necessary holes were filled. The car was then sand blasted again inside, outside and underneath then epoxy primmed again

The car is now in hi-fil and will be painted in the next couple of weeks we are just giving the hi-fil a bit of time to cure properly while we are waiting it is going back to Paul's place to have the rear swaybar and parachute mounts fitted there will be a heap more pics just need to download them all.

Thats a lot of work gone into this build, I am guessing it is going to be a dedicated drag car?

Nah still street registered but not driven very often it will have the driveline that was going into my old 4dr will limit power to about 450-500whp just for reliabillity with the head which will see it into the mid nines then depending on funds I might take it further later on.

Colour is still a closely guarded secret because whenever I say to people what colour it is going 5 other cars show up with the colour.

At night under lights it is a lot different and then in the sun it gets a real gold flip and looks pale almost like the old sassy grass green from the dodges of the 60's and 70's I wanted green it was just a matter of which green and to me that colour is the best lots of xyrellic in it. Bit of luck it will be on wheels by Xmas. Then get the drive line in sometime next year.

What a tough little coupe Mic, would love to see an update. Like where you are going with it, pro street style, my Charger is being built that way. Similar colour too, I am painting mine the original Pampas/Acid green, which was available on Galant's also. Nice work Mic.
Cheers Pete.

At the moment it is sitting in the garage gathering dust just too much going on and I am fixing up the lancer I purchased about a month ago just want something that is a little tamer and can be used everyday aswell as go around corners. Hopefully soon I will have the motorvation to start on it again it is a shame to have it sitting there doing nothing.

Starting to build a bit of momentum I have some very good mates that are starting to give me a shove after they heard that I was thinking about selling it so should see some progress in the next week or so aswell as a lot of stuff for sale to help fund getting this car finished all the hard work is done it just needs to be bolted back together and purchase a new auto for it really cant wait to get it going.
