well we have started on scotts 2.420 ( short stroke astron )

I didn't bother to take pics pulling it down but the engine is striped and getting bored to suit some celica forged pistons - bore size 92.5 mm
the plan from here is this W/E strip the pistons off the rods and start preping them for when the block come back they will be polished peaned and have some arps fitted
the knife edge crank ( 90 mm stroke )is ready and waiting

I plan to take pics as I go on assembly so I will have to use the small hammers, scott will be watching

things still to make will be a custom crank scaper - custom billet flywheel - a new baffled sump

anyway this is just an into to the build and I'll keep adding as we go

I think a Tac hammer is about the largest one I want to see you use.. :?

After this engine is finished, we can start on the long stroke 2795cc Astron.
I'm yet to decide weather I'll go turbo or NA on this one.

For a N/A setup, I'll use the Same Celica pistons, offset grind the crank for a 104mm stroke and use the 6.3" Lentz nascar rods.
For a Turbo setup, I'll use the US Starion pistons, same offset grind for the crank (104mm stroke) and the 6.4" Lents nascar rods.
I don't want either of these engines to spin past 6000rpm but I think both will make a fair bit of power..

I still have the VR4 engine at your place. Guess I'll need to buy another Scorp to fit that engine into.. ;)

Cheers.

I got a 6.5kg sledge you can borrow. Bigger the hammer the better the job :)

ok the block has been bored for the pistons and is back in the my shed
I've pressed the pistons off the rods and thats about it
scotts sending me down some goodys that he has in stock

I'll start taking pics as I do stuff from now on

next job is to prep the rods - polish/pean the beams fit some ARP bolts / resize
all the std stuff that you do to rods
