THANK GOD IT'S NOT ANOTHER SKYLINE, 200SX OR WRX!?!! These things are the very reason why I've been put off the local performance magazines. IMHO autosalon is a showroom full of cashed up, raging egomaniacs. :@

The things that work for me in the retro car scene are the guys who build them actually drive them. You see a lot of innovation in cars that had to be invented on the fly to solve problems. And they're not a collection of parts from a catalogue and just bolted on. I get a huge laugh out of "tuner" cars with aftermarket shopping lists on their doors. I wanted to put one on my colt "bread, milk, canola oil, lube..." just to take the piss out of these try-hards! And the only thing more rewarding than being able to say I built it is handing some guy in his late model nissan his head and showing him the door... 8o|

-cut, don't feel like getting into an e-fight over the subject-
Go back and actually read the post mate, I think you'll find that I said I like the car, EXCEPT for the colour. Pink isn't my thing, neither's your particular shade of purple for that matter, but that doesn't stop both this and your car being all kinds of cool.

As I said in the post that Dan's taken completely out of context I think this car is all kinds of cool, bar the colour. Keep up the good work

Nah im all good,
im just saying its a big call,
for me those Autosalon tossers are all ridiculous body kits, 30" spinning chrome mags, Diamonte encrusted Sunvisors, and gear knobs with flashing lights in them.

A paint job doesnt come close to that.

man this went off topic quick :blah:

i wasnt a fan of the colour myself at first. but it has grown on me. and im not normally a fan of the GA, GB galants but this has swayed me in their favour. i wish my car looked as clean as this. goodwork mate! i really appreciate the detail and mods your putting in. dedication!

oh and i used to drive a skyline....wasnt a faggot with chromies or shopping list etc though. just felt the car had no personality so it had to go. hence the galant

thermostat in place..ill make a housing and pipe to go straight down and bend under manifold, then some rad hose to join it up to the rear outlet Under manifold near starter..
hose tail in top is to bleed rear water outlet (air)...hose that comes from back of head near f/wall (in pic with white heat wrap on) will loop around to this point

Are you going to do something with that radiator? It's the only thing that's letting the rest of your work down. Take it out, hit the top tank with some paint stripper and give it a squirt of semi gloss epoxy black.

wiring loom is 99% finished.... just need some coil igniters to complete it....
Image
Image
i used a piece of stainless 4mm rod to guide wire loom around the front of the motor...plan on mounting cranksensor bracket of old alt mount or something around that point....Also  going to get an alloy crank pulley, machine the unused rear pulley down flat... then mount 3 pins in it and call it a crank disc!
