keep doing it guys! if my scrap heap could make it in, im sure you guys can, hell both you guys have nicer cars than my wagon.

Nice feature mate and you are correct. Everyone on here with a story to tell should be telling it to Speedhunters. Use the form below to make contact, tell them what you have and what you have done to it and they will hit you back.

Well I have used my time off this week well and have made some great progress, I think.

So I started with a complete block minus timing cover and sump.
Flushed it, removed bearing caps to check bearings and crank, all good so lubbed up and re-assembled.
Knocked a few little dents out of the sump and resprayed it and the block satin black.
Cleaned up the timing cover, painted it silver, clear coated and fitted it up.
Cleaned and refitted the water pump (Was fitted new 1200k's ago)

This is was the first time I though about taking pics, lol

Converted inlet manifold satin blacked

Cleaned and painted rocker cover [biggrin]

Got the head back all nice and fresh. Been faced, flushed and valve stem seals replaced. Cam been linished and re fitted with new lifters.
Again I forgot about pics [frown] But here it is all fitted to the engine bay. Not far away from cranking [smile]

Still confident it will crank this weekend and fire and maybe even head around the block next weekend.

Tell me that is just a trial fit?
You aren't leaving the paint in the engine bay like that are you?

Yep, still some tidying work to be done.
The whole thing is a trial really, lol. The 4G63 will be back once I have amassed all I need to make it a straight forward swap, not a year of fluffing about with no result as was last year.

Been a while but it is all up and running well now and serving me well.

Had to change the inlet manifold as the one I bought was welded with solder, lol

Why is it your front guards aren't wearing the red striping on the bottom??????

He ditched the Datsun 180B lookalike guards and replaced them with proper Galant guards, that's why the red striping is missing.

They are now.
The first guards I had were temporary until I found and painted a good pair.
The front guards, bonnet and front apron are all new to the car and freshly painted. I waited until I had done a final sand and polish before putting the stripe on there. Also now has full JDM front end and NOS lights in both the apron and guards.

Your hardtop is looking really good Jas. I like the JDM front end on it.
Is the twin exhurst system a factory one?
I have to get around to getting mine fitted.

Cheers Nath :$
Nah exhaust is one I made myself, lol. Needs some mods but looks okay for now.
I would like a stock rear section though. Everything I looked at (ie; R31, Magna) that had twin rear pipes had a MASSIVE muffler, way to big to fit neatly under the Galant.

When dad had the Galant he sourced a factory twin setup from the UK. Yours looks similar to the factory one.

Hanging out at the SnS. While I am critical of its appearance and quality, I did get a lot of good complements and praise.

Nothing really happened with the 63 in the end and that was the problem. I spent 2 summers and a winter effing around and really was getting nowhere with it so ended up building the 54 up to suit what I wanted.
Sold the 63 and all parts to a fellow Mitsi lover here in SA, not sure what became of it.
The funky extractors I made are now clear coated and a wall ornament, lol.
