Re: My GC Hardtop project
Is that badge for sale???
Re: My GC Hardtop project
hmm somebody's been whoring @ speedhunters?
Re: My GC Hardtop project
lol, yeah a while ago. Couldn't help myself, although it isn't about me, my intention is only to get renewed interest in our chosen brand, for the greater good of the community and all that
Re: My GC Hardtop project
Yeah, As far as I could find there's only one post on early Mitsu on Speedhunters, and while it was a nice LA Lancer it's still not enough.
But with their #featurethis and #iamthespeedhunter campaigns going on it's in our hands really. If we hit them with enough quality photos of our cars (and our backstories) they'll take notice.

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Was hoping so. Think they will really suit it, more than they would suit any of the others.
1976 Galant Hardtop
Re: My GC Hardtop project
Yeah, I think they should look pretty good on it.
I am going to try a red highlight, just because I think it will suit the theme of the car.

Or you could paint all the grey bits red and it would be closer to a star shark or techno phantom or similar. Personally I'd like some more offset at that width
Are you sure these are 4x114.3? I vaguely remember when he started stocking these and only had then in 4x100.

Re: My GC Hardtop project
According to the ebay page and the otomoto page they now offer 4x114.3 and 4x100.
I don't think the offset will be too bad, remember I have a stock width Scorpion diff under there now. My 15x8 +0 will scrape on the rear now, just, so these should fill it out nicely.
They should be here this week so I guess I will see then

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Got my wheels today, now I just need tyres, and maybe a slight guard stretch
Re: My GC Hardtop project
For that sizing, I expected a bit more dish?A112H wrote:15x7.5 +0
I'll reserved judgement till I see them with tyres and on the car.Nath76LA wrote:Much prefer these to the others.
Not saying they look bad, but just looking at the lack of dish and... Meh
Sometimes I just need to see tyres on rims to get the full effect

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Cheers guys, just about finished painting the engine bay, then I can fit the engine for the last time and fit the front guards and bonnet along with all my new JDM front stuff.
Scored my self a set of 4 80% tread 195/50/15's tonight for $60 from gumtree, lol. Will get them fitted this week so I can see how far I need to roll/stretch the guards.
Once that is done I can paint them up. Then I am just waiting on a few bits and pieces to sort out the ecu and stuff and it should see the road again, for winter this time might re-think the lack of heater hoses, lol

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Could not wait to get stuck into the extractors so the engine bay will be painted later, lol
Got cylinders 1 and 2 squared away this morning.
Let me know what you think.

Re: My GC Hardtop project
It looks good but hard to tell how it will look until the others go in.
I would have come out further towards the guard for just a bit more attention haha

That is where No4 is going, lol. No3 will wrap right around the front around No1
I ran out of bends so it will have to wait until Tuesday at least

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Thanks mate, getting there
Got No.4 sorted just need a 180 bend to join it.
No.3 will wrap around the front and come back between the block and dip stick. Hopefully get a chance to grab some more bends tomorrow.

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Being playing around with a few different designs and have finally finished my extractors/headers.
Also used a remote mounted brake reservoir from a Scorpion to ensure they don't effect the brakes. Will still make a heat shield once they are coated and have final fitting.
What do you think?
Still got the last join to finish on number 2 but looking good.
I have no idea how they will sound but they should flow well. They are 2" running into a 4 into 1 collector, exiting as a single 3" pipe. Then through a reducer to a 2" flexy joint to a flange and then bolted to the existing exhaust system.
They will need to be sent out for final finish welding and smoothing. They will then be HPC coated and all ready to go

Re: My GC Hardtop project
Thank you, I am pretty happy with them.
So it was today was finally a warm day where I had nothing to do, so I got stuck into the front panels.
Galants enjoying a rare day out in the sun
Panels all hi filled and undercoated on body lines
All painted up and looking good
I am much happier this time around, these panels look better off the gun than some parts of the rest of the car and that has been sanded and polished, lol
