Got my side stripes on Friday :D Very excited as the colour is on my car now so the stripes can go on soon then the clear coat and it should be looking pretty good.
I have some GTO decals from a '68 Pontiac GTO, lol but they will look sweet and they match my stripes. Mine are red :)

The stripes in this pic are the same as mine.

I have decided to go for big wide steel wheels. I scored a set of 4x114.3 in 15"x6" steelies from a wreckers. Pretty sure they are R31 Skyline wheels. $100 bargain.
I am going to leave the fronts 15x6 but getting the rim moved out 15mm for some big dishy dish and inner clearance.
The back ones will be fitted with new 8 wide hoops so should give me a massive dish.
I will be running chrome outer trims and the little Sigma/Galant centre caps with red wheel nuts

Okay, things have been happening since the site died.

The old guy is who I am renting the shed from, not me

Finally have some colour on the main body

These are my 15's to be modded

Final colour sand was done today, tomorrow I am going there to help/watch/fit the side stripes and decals. Then it will get hit with the clear and be ready to come home.

Front guards getting the indicators filled in. Just an idea I had from the start to smooth out the lines a bit.

Mirror holes drilled and a trial fit up, lol

Got a bit bored today and the guy painting my car has been sick for the last few days so the progress has slowed :(

I decided to head over to the shed and trail fit the "RED" parts I have been working on at home.

Let me know what you think.

This is one of my 15's with the chrome trim, centre cap and red wheel nuts. (hasn't been widened yet, just a test)

My freshly painted gril showing fit up of new 150w landing lights and red trim

My freshly painted tail lights with red trim

This would be my fav pic so far. I just love how clean everything is for whats a 34 y/o car.

Also my new signature is the JDM badge I bought for the bootlid

The grill came with the car  I thought the one's like yours were just replaced with GD grilles?? Yes the headlights bolt right in no worries. They are 150w Aircraft landing lights, I got them from ebay, can't remember how much now it was about 5 months ago I think.

So the Coupe is on hold again. The useless ...... uuummmmm ........ person doing the paint job decided to put my stripes on himself when I wasn't there, then when he got them un-even left to right he thought it would be a good idea to have a go at the GTO decals.
After getting them even more wrong than the stripes he figured it was a good time to lay the clear coat over the whole mess.
As soon I saw it I pulled the pin on the job, had a spit at the loser and took my car home.
Now it is sitting in my shed waiting till I can sort the money mess out with the wanker who can't even put a sticker on so I can get it to another shop to get it fixed and then finished.

This is useless, and clear coated over. You can not expect to get payed for this sort of work.

Well that's not great is it!!
Surely he would've thought to check with you that you were happy with the stripes before going the clear coat

GTO logo is kind of ok, but the stripe is clearly crooked on the fuel cap - how does the other side compare?

Yeah the bottom of the G in the pic is about 1cm lower than the stripe
The other side is straight, still not perfect but acceptable. Except the whole stripe is about 1.5cm lower on the body than the passenger side pictured. It really is poor work and will need to have both side sanded back and new stripes fitted

ohhhh now I see the GTO is way out! bit hard to pick up in pics at first, but yeah, I'd be rather pissed off with that too. That and the fact if each side is different!?! Now I definately understand your anger.

Once done correctly I won't change my mind, also it reduces fading and sun damage and stops little shits being able to peal it off.
These stripes are designed to be cleared over.

Yeah it's pretty bad, hold a piece of paper to the screen and you will see the difference. The stripe was custom made so the GTO decals would line up perfectly.
I think I will alter the position of the stripes so I can use what I have left.
Something like this but with black rims
