Do these ornaments have a manifold? If they did, would this manifold be for sale?
You'd have to really twist my arm- got the full set up with new brass linkages port matched to a head. Wouldn't really be prepared to separate them...
All good mate, got a manifold sorted :)

Got it going again fuel pump is now mounted in the boot and running through proper relay/fuse/switch.

back to square one though... even bought a new ignition module $65.. :wut:

still sounds like a bi-plane. for fuarkkkkk

going to check the following tmoz;
- carb filters??

floats are fine in the sight glass, and ive replaced pretty much all ignition modules, only other thing i can think of is ballist resistor, my sigmas never had one... although the other gsr did?? :wut:

could even be the valves???

any ideas are muchly appreciated (H)

RE parcel shelf light, do what my grandfather did on his old Valiant to deter tailgaters. Get a shooter's spotlight (you know, the ones that attach to the roof of your ute and have a handle to move it about in the cab?), hardmount it to your parcel shelf and wire up a switch on the dash so you could turn it on and the spotlight would come on when you hit the brakes :P
Probably not a good idea these days though :P

You know what the best thing about twin carbs is?
You've got one to copy how the other one goes back together (so long as you do them one at a time  ).

I would let Solex Carbies scare you, they are basic and other then the brass weight and ball bearing (which careful note needs to be taken to make sure they are installed back in the correct place) everything else basically is straight forward and fool proof.
Only use compressed air to clean jets (DON'T USE WIRE, what ever you do :o ).

You might as well put a pair of carby kits through them while you're at it. Another good reason for this is because they include step by step instructions and exploded diagrams.

I'm blaming the full moon this week- seen heaps of break downs in the last few days. Even my mate suffered a catastrophic engine fail on Friday... Seeing the siggie on the back of a truck isn't a sight you want to get used to!

Just at a point where im getting the shits with it, personally wanna complete it... but yeah i get over being left without a car as a daily... sometimes i think would be better just to have a reliable daily... :wut:

Id only sell it if i got close to asking price.

As for the charger ill have a think about it and pm you, thinking of selling that and going a different direction as astrons are starting to piss me off... something reliable perhaps lol?

Im just tired of not having a car to drive.

Carbs need work done so im told. Also inquiring about the charger... might be easier just to put that on instead of paying for the carbs to be tuned and rebuilt.

working out stuff now...

Getting over it, got an offer for 4500, without charger, provious owner wants the charger, see how it goes... :\

anyways taking the car down the shop to see if the carbs need tuning or rebuilding.

least its running again which is always a good thing haha..

see how it all goes if it sells it sells, if it don't ill still continue to fix it and have it running so i can bloody get from a - b lol.

As some are aware sigma was for sale and sold, didnt go to plan just got stuffed around... was going to buy a NEW car but as i couldnt sell im going to invest funds into fixing this engine/rebuilding or simply buy an engine.

Im considering doing a commodore conversion, just unsure as of the cost as i may be planning a holiday but ill see how shit turns out, ill quote the astron rebuild and stretch other means of finding an engine before i consider this.

Supercharger is gone to 81GL

Eventually wanted to turbo the sigma anyways.

any help on my engine troubles is greatly appreciated :)

also updates:
- Fixed fuel tank including: Filter inside the tank, replaced. The level instrument is now replaced.
- Interior is complete, finally got all my pieces for it (H)
- Started cleaning out the boot, going to strip all the sound deadener and re-paint the inside... pretty dirty, also going to do a boot install and mount the amp correctly clean up the rear end wiring
- Found a rear garnish
- Twin Carbs have been rebuilt completly, at the buyers cost who didnt come through... :wut:

Going to be doing the following:
- Ripping out engine
- Looking for a replacement or waiting till early Sept to get it rebuilt.
- Cleaning the boot up among other little things, such as wiring.
- Paint the following items: Battery Tray/Extractors/Oil catch plate/Boot/Brake Booster. So when engine goes back in its all pretty
- Getting dizzy rebuilt

Also quoting the rear end fixed, will be doing it as soon as the engine is back in along with all rust!!

Then later down the line:
- Fixing up the body completely... including the paint... ill leave that till last and get the car running properly first.

Took the car to another mechnaic to fix suspected problems... turns out now the carbs just arent tuned properly... Yet i paid a mechanic to do it??

Getting beyond a joke now... but yeah not sure if selling or going to keep the project going, if engine is fine i can concentrate on other things... like body work and having it look better...

currently getting the following fixed:

- Brake booster replaced as mine is leaking, need to replace LH Wheel Cyclinder, then brake setup will be complete and all brand new. (also painting up the booster to match my sexy bay.)
- Clutch Cable as i got a NEW one off my brother.
- Interior is now 100% complete... all original...
- Getting the car re-tuned as its running to rich...

apparently compression is

134 in 1/2 and 3.
4 is running at 124

according to the carby bloke he said he suspsected a blow out between 2 and 3.

sorta hoping the carby bloke was wrong and that my engine is infact 100% FINE.

just want a car running really... weather its the sigma or not...
