Don't bother with an SR-DET unless you want to be picking bits of valve out of your pistons every time you rev it.
SR-VET on the other hand... :D
More money (considerably so) but you'll never have to worry about those pissy weaksauce little rocker arms snapping ever again.

Personally, I'd stick with the Astron. More boost, bigger cam, shoot for 400hp :D

Great to hear they are home and everything on the road to recovery.

Have you seen this Harry?

Put the battery in the boot and you would have room for a turbo behind each headlight

yeh ive heared alot about the sr'doing that kinda thing..im trying to work out if i get a bigger turbo, cam etc it will cost me the same as buying another setup?
i know ive built my motor to handle more power but i really dont know about these astrons being so old and not like these new motors with all the technology?

yeah i was thinking of an rb as there a 2.6, ;-) like the sigma! hahah i can leave the side 2.6 badges and no one will ever know :D it is really different and should work!

hey dave,i know where your coming from but how big are the rb30's in size also compared to the rb26? will it fit in the bay? never thought about the rb30,maybe coz of how much i hate vl turbo.. :D
its the visual aspect along with the power to cash money :D im looking for! i say that coz the astron has cost me a tonne of cash and only punching so much? i want mega power but at the same time she has to look pretty..

na not et's 30det's i hate vl's aswell  but don't mind the twincams, my mate said the 30 block is a lil taller than the other RB's and is sure the single cam head is a lil taller than the wider twincam but sure they'll fit, a RB30 with a 25/26 head best of both worlds and just with few lil mods, near stockish parts a good aftermaket ecu with injectors you'll be pushing very good power for $$$ only good thing with RB's there cheap power :ban:

hey peeps ive gone and done it now..as of today ive pretty much sold my complete engine setup and its going into a import starion..
$3500 is what ive just sold it for considering still needed money owing to some people..my loss is there gain but what do you do!
looks like theres gonna be another project ISKA8,im either thinking of going completly nuts on it or just putting a standard motor in and selling it? still undecided but will cross that bridge when the motor goes.. :(

1uz is a tuff bit of gear 6 bolt mains forged internals, lots of power to be had

pretty engines are for the autosalon crew, but the 1uz looks pretty to real car people because its beauty is on the inside

1uz capri street car on e85, he drives it to and from the track

Dream would be to see a 8A80 but you will never find one.

I once bid on a V12 BMW engine for the GK :P.

Another idea - 1GZ - if it fits - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JDM-Toyota-1 ... 35b626231b

End of the day - as mick said - 1uz is a cheap motor for the power you can get.

ok boys its been a while since ive updated on the old siggy..as most of youy guys kno i sold the running gear from the old girl and gave the car to my little brother as a present for his first car..doesnt mean im not going to be taking her out for cruises..lol
the car is currently going under a full re-trim,new engine translplant which consists of 4g54 with custom grind camshaft, ported and shaved heads and hopefully if we can get our hands on a twin carby manifold,it will run twin 40mm carbs..(so if anyone has or knows where there is one let me know)..also giving the car the old school nostalgic look with some cool 15" or 16" wheels which we cant decide just yet?? any ideas and pics with fitment sizes would be much appreciated and then lowering it alot more with a huge camber on the front..thats what my little brother want and thats what ill give him..
anyway i can talk garbage all day so ill catch u guys on the flipside..
