What's left to do ? =]
wont sell it for along time if ever but whats left to do heaps.

To start with im trying to change as little as possible to get it on the road this way i wont need enineering certificates for so many things at once and less likely to get knocked back for rwc, so to get it on the road i still have to get the water piping at the rear of the engine fabed up, get all the brakes rebuilt, new fuel system(surge tank etc.), intercooler piping and exhaust made, new rear suspension, all the wiring needs to be done to the microtech computer, and some interior work. more body work and full paint job.

what ill be doing in the future after getting it on the road is, supra gea box, hilux diff with rear brake setup, and better front brakes(skyline or something)

So still lots to be done

update long over due, engine is in and looking good

im looking at different ways to route the water lines and stuff but think im pretty set in the way i want to do it
inlet plenum want be staying unfortunately, it is to close to the lights with the throttle body on, will look at modifying later but for now ive picked up a standard one thats been modified
clearance is looking pretty good atm, hopefully dont run into any unexpecting problems fron here

of the net, a random buy that came up, looks really good, but will have to use a standard one to start with or i might sell the custom one see what happens

ok so flip flop manifold adaptor worked well and cost me 30 bucks to make, next thing im goin to work on is the water plumbing
this is how i think it should flow, let me know if i have got it wrong

I was worried about the head not bleeding out the air trapped in it...water will flow down under manifold to rad...but not the air...so i put small air bleed hose from head outlet to rad (or thermo at rad in my case)..

Image to nipple here at thermo housing (you can see the 8mm hose to left of pic)...it should also provide some recirculation around thermostat to aid in opening it...

I was worried about the head not bleeding out the air trapped in it...water will flow down under manifold to rad...but not the air...so i put small air bleed hose from head outlet to rad (or thermo at rad in my case)..
thanks for pointing that out wouldnt have though about that other wise, what if i just taped a bleed screw in to the pipe at the back, so open the screw slightly with the engine running to bleed the air out?
This is sorta how i remember my rb20 engine bleed the air out

You could delete the water lines to the turbo if you wanted to, they aren't really necessary, Mitsubishi did it to prolong the life as the average consumer isn't a enthusiast like ourselves and would just shut the car off after a long period or hard driving in the car. Just install a turbo timer that way when you go to shut off the car, it will stay running for another 30-60 secs to allow the turbo to spool down then shut off on its own.

Thanks for the input, see how i go but i already have the parts to keep the water for turbo so probly well keep it at the moment.

trial fit, very close to the clutch cable, will have to make heat shield and try to get the clutch cable as far away from it as possible

ok update time, the red galant getting the conversion done on it has had the microtech 90% wired in, water piping just about there, but on a bad note i have tried to crank the engine to see how its going and the starter motor doesnt make contact with the flywheel(doesnt engage) i tried all 3 starter motors from the 4g63, the 4g32 manual and the 4g32 automatic( they all look pretty much the same) all with the same result. i used the standard 4g32 flywheel as im starting off using the standard 4 speed. So had to do some searching for what i should be using and apparently i should be using the front wheel drive 4g63 version as it is slightly bigger, will swap them around this week and hopefully that is the end of the dramas with this, also scored r31 diff with rear disc, tail shaft and front brakes which will all be added to the car down the track. still not 100% sure on which transmission to go with yet, would a power glide fit under there i wonder, anyway thats where its at.

Have you been able to track down a flywheel yet? One thing to keep in mind is that the RWD '63 flywheels have a bearing in the center for the input shaft in the gearbox where as the FWD doesn't. It just has a hole that is pretty much the exact same size as the input shaft on the standard galant gearbox.

Mate this is driving me crazy, took it all off today and compared it to the 4g32 flywheel and the 4g32 is noticeably bigger, so done some research and l300 express seems to be what i need, so will chase one up and hopefully will be all good. Glad i found this now though.. :banh:

ok so rang around looking for a rwd narrow flywheel, with no luck :( so decided to go to the local wreckers to check what they had, looked in the Mitsubishi section and found nothing that looked similar with the 6 bolt pattern, so i had a look at other sections and came accross one that look identicle to my standard 5 bolt flywheel except with the 6 bolt pattern that i need, all i know is that it was in the nissan section and had 4x4 on it :o . So now ive taken it home and got it on the car all thats left to do is try the starter on it and we are good to go but yeah like i said its identical in size to the 5 bolt standard 4g32 flywheel, i'm thinking that it might have been in the wrong spot and may have been a Mitsubishi one of some sort. Once this is out of the way might be on track to get this thing running

well the flywheel that i eyeballed from the wreckers seems to work a treat, does anyone know if nissan shares a fly wheel, maybe a smaller truck...
now the count down begins for getting this thing running

got her running today, which is an awesome feeling after wiring the microtech in for the first, now its time to pull it all out and put it into the good one...
