Jap 5 speed untill it blows.. I think its a narrow box?? Correct me if i'm wrong or give me the official name :)

XF uni joints, custom thick ass mother tail shaft and locked scorpion disc brake diff. Going to go W* toyota box and either commodore/R31/hilux diff when i get more coin. Untill then i'll keep replacing 5speeds..

for my new setup the 2.6 efi turbo im aiming for 250rwkw im thinking either Stazza box just cause less mods involved
or W58 supra box or R154 supra box
the 154 is stronger but much more cash
Yeah the 5 speed held up under 300rwhp.. I just won't side step the clutch (ceramic 5 phuck brass button solid center..)

Don't think i'll be able to change gears under boost either..

Well, after powercruise next weekend i'll let you know how it goes haha....

Hoping for around 400rwhp or there abouts.. If anything i'll run out of turbo, only a gt3076r, .63 exhaust.

lol strait to powercruise aye
dont you have to run the motor in a bit before the caining
Yeah, should have a run in tune on it tomorrow, get up 1000km over the weekend then wham, wack a big tune in.

The dude thats doing it has a 350fwhp lancer 4g63, bedded the rings in on the dyno for an hour or so then went straight into mental tune and raced at jambo the next day (last year)
Car is still alive and healthy as.

It's alive !!

Well it was... Until the spark side of the crank angle sensor shit itself. We'd just fixed all the little leaks, idling away at 2000rpm running the cam in and burrrrr, died..

Hopefully new cas be here tomorrow morning, run it in for a day then go all out haha... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Fyi - the engine builder is the bloke who had the red lancer at jambo last year and got runner up. That engine was built and tuned the day before jambo, and it's still going.
So i have some faith haha

296.5 rwhp on 11psi, creeping to just under 13psi. Still running fairly fat.
That was only an hour on the dyno just so i can get some kms up on it before we throw a big tune in it tomorrow arvo after driving all night tonight haha :D

So it made 340rwhp on around 16/18 psi. Drove it to bris, then it died the night before powercruise...

It's a timing problem, all 4 pistons are hitting valves. Bending the plugs in etc. Nothing has changed on the outside (no belt jump, no adj cam gear movement) so i'm guessing i've broken a keyway on the crank or cam.. I'll find out this week when i asses the damage. For now it can sit on the car trailer lol..

Good part, still has full 180psi compression across the board. Just the pistons look a bit messy and i don't know what the bores are like till i get the head off.

Oh well, shit happens Sad

soo....

faulty piston?
something in cooler pipe?
iunno, ideas...

None of the other pistons have marks. so no clearance issues.

There was also traces of coolant in the combustion chamber on cyl 3 (fucked one) and the intake port of cyl 3 was super super clean... others were normal, etc...

Yeah man, flow tested injectors. All 560cc on the dot.

Looks like the ring wasn't sealing. Solid black line where the rings come to in the bore and then on no.3 intake side it fades down another half a cm..

So either oval bore or shit piston.

man a truley awesome thread, but i must say most of all im just stoked to see the siggy ended up in the hands of someone who's got the coin and the drive to see it through to the end. The potential as the dyno figure showed is flat out amazing...

Great work man hope you get the problems sorted real soon.

Autronic. Just wanna get it checked cause no.3 has screwed up twice now. And it looks like it could be leaning out that cylinder... Only thing the same is inlet manifold and ecu that could do that. Got injectors tested and they all flow exactly 550cc...

And i don't see how an inlet manifold that is made decently can be that bad..

Spoken with the owner of the workshop. No matter what the problem, i pay for parts only. They supply labour and dyno tuning again.

It's still coming.. Bit of a downer tho, got broken into a few weeks ago. Wrecked the drivers door and stole a few gauges and shit.
Just saving money atm so i can do it all in one big hit again. Probably end up doing gearbox and diff conversion at the same time. And retrofitting aircon.. Fuck its hot up here.

That sucks.... I feel for you dude! I had my old starion stolen once and it's the worst feeling. I was really hoping to cruise with you, when i am up in QLD with my Sigma. I am going through the same swap at the moment, and thought it would have cool to have pics of them together.

Don't let those low life people get you down, make it bigger and better.
