This was done a couple days ago but I forgot to post it, we have cut out the rust next is to replace it.
As you can see it is a lot better then the other side.

Just curious.
Has anyone got a good answer on how to remove the non setting window sealant from the rear window openings?
We've tried a few different solvents, but nothing that just gets it off easy (wax and grease remover, turps, kerosene, GP thinners to name just a few).
I've tried google search, but I'm not having much luck finding anything useful.

I also tried shellite (lighter fluid) I think the shellite works just that little bit quicker.

Had a bit of time off (due to various things).
I got my argon bottle refilled this week, and this happened today.

Nothing more annoying than the captured nuts your number plates bolt onto fracturing around the outside of the welds that hold them there (well, maybe there are, but they're now fixed anyway).




The break between this update and the last is too long (we did go on holidays, but tit wasn't that long. That October deadline is getting closer.

I like the wheels. The red would depend on the final colour of the car but it's easy enough to change it if need be.

Funny you say that.
Ferg loves these rims and the colour of them, so much so, body colour choice has just been changed to accommodate them.

I stopped in to look at them on the way home form work today.

Sorry I've been so well dead on the forum, not a lot has happened, so there hasn't been much to update with.


So here's what's happened since my last post.
I managed to score a new set of rims.... Red Work Pulse in 14x6.5 +7offset.



Here's how they look on my wagon (excuse the stuff stacked on it, space is at a premium in the garage atm).
Anyone have any thoughts on wheel nuts to go with these? Dad thinks I should go with socket head black nuts, I have no idea.


Is that better offset than the factory rims?


The rims are potentially a game changer. Direction changer if you like. The orange body colour that I was planning on I don't think will look as good with the red wheels as other colours.
The current thoughts are to keep the factory body colour and maybe paint the roof a different colour?
What's the thoughts on respraying the rood black again or maybe even white?

I think your dads got a good idea with that black socket head wheel but idea.

And in my opinion. If you don't mind a nice red color IMA gonna say exterior a beige color - 8902 beige is one I personally think might mesh well with a blood red interior.

But then everyone has their own opinions but wheels can definitely change plans with a car I know that myself.

I think the wheels should have some form of dark grey/graphite centres

or

completely polished surface with black inserts

Hello I'm back after God knows how long?

I have now got a job which means money and this gives me freedom to buy stuff for the car. At the moment I'm looking for a electric fuel pump for a 1850 astron with twin carbs, and have been told not to get the cheap ones because the are noisy (most of these are facet fuel pumps). Does anyone know any good electric fuel pumps for a galant GC wagon (not that it being a wagon changes anything)?

If you know some good ones online please leave a link to it.

Nothing wrong with the facet pumps , yes they are a little noisy but they are extremely reliable and tough , I've had one on my sigma running twin carbs with a pressure regulator for over three years with not a problem regards Chris

Yesterday I bought two facet pumps because there cheap and incase one dies I'll have a spare.

Hopefully will have the car able to move on its own in the next couple of weeks. Or atleast be able to start up.
