As much as the V6 with a Holley sitting on top looks the goods. I'm not sold on cutting up the floor and other body modifications.

Not sure how VIC do their club rego, but 'historic rego' here in NSW is allowed "period modifications and modifications that came out in that model".
Eg v8 could be fitted to a commodore, even if the one you bought only had 6 cylinders, but need brake upgrade etc.

So as awesome as the V6 might look, it wouldnt be classified as "Period" under NSW rules....VIC may be different.

Twin webers would be the way to go in my opinion.

So I'm kinda leaning toward a single side draft manifold and matching carb.
A set of extractors and still undecided about the "Electronic ignition" set up, maybe a Crane Cams XR3000.

Might even pull the engine and paint it Orange!!!

Had the tyres stripped off the factory rims and fitted to the mags over the weekend.
Also ordered a Pertronix Ignitor II and matching coil to pi55 off the points ignition.
I'm hoping the Pertronix set up is as easy to install as the one I fitted to my Cleveland V8 a few years ago.

I also advanced the timing a heap and it seems to run a lot better.

Who has pulled all the emissions crap of their car?
Might do that next weekend, I guessing I just have to rip the lot off and block off anything attached to the inlet manifold and carb.
I'll leave the vacuum advance attached though.

The electronic ignition gear has arrived.
Pertronix Ignitor II
Pertronix Flamethrower II Coil (Chrome one)
...and a "JEGS" Chrome coil bracket.

Let's hope I get time to fit it all over the weekend!

Not a great deal, I have moved house twice and renovated the second while at the first!

Mini Mopar is now in a 3 bay garage (with a pit) but all my efforts have been on the house!

Funnily enough, I said to the misses last night... "I should pull out Mini Mopar and see how much air I can get in the paddock!"
....the side of my property has a motor bike track!

My son jumps in the car nearly every weekend and pretends to dive it. (He's almost 4)

So what have I done to Mini Mopar recently?

Nothing, I ended up fitting the electronic ignition gear ages ago and it works a treat.
Renewed the club rego and just threw all the paperwork in the glove box.

Car in now covered in almost 2 yrs of dust from being in the big garage BUT I actually had a guy come over 2 days ago and quote for a re-spray.

Looks like I have spent my tax return before even submitting it!

Might actually get some progress happening soon!!

I can't believe how easy these cars are to work on!

The Pig (My old XB) would have been fighting me all the way, this thing is 10mm socket for all!!!

I even went out today and blocked one of the side back!!

Half a dozen sockets, half a dozen screwdrivers and a hammer and pliers will turn ur complete car into each individual pieces.....they are brilliant to work on.....very forgiving

On a serious note, I distinctly remember someone doing an XY GTHO replica with a Cortina and it worked very well.....Ur creation is looking just as good!!!

Are u going to replicate the engine bay (with the 4cyl) ??

Would like to end up with side draft carb's.
Already have a single side draft manifold for the 4G32 but no carb.
If I go down the 4G54 route, would try and do a twin side draft.

All inline with the 265 cui with swinging triple webbers!

Actually took Mini Mopar to a local show recently.

Noticed a few guy's scratching there head while looking at the car.
A couple even asked if it had a 265 in it!!!

I've also sourced a 2.6 engine from a Scorpion and disc brake diff.

Now to workout how to change them over!
