Say hello to B2!

Post by 75glnt »

Here's B2 :P

Image

Formerly known as davenq's I think :P

Runs a 2.6 and a 5 speed, deleted balance shafts, 20thou over (0.50 on the tops), and some gh struts/brakes.

Plan is to throw her together and drive! Needs carpet (done and installed), and the head bolted up. A bit of crap to fix here and there, and on the road she goes! Nothing real special, and unfortunately, I can see this one getting a hard time (got my pretty one, need a thrasher now) :P

Just need to sort out the ignition timing and a few wires here and there. Find a top rad hose that'll work and hope to start from there :)

Straight. Minus a dent on the rear left corner. And a small dent on the left front...

A plus side though? She has BOTH eyebrows! :O lol

There's a little bit of shity rust here and there. But really not too bad :)

Update!

Got her running :D and... Some dopey bugger mixed up a water hose to a vacuum port on intake runner #4  so she copped a belly full of water and spewed water out the gasket! :banh:

Hopefully no damage was done and all is well... The joys of finishing someone else's projects :\

Yep... Good fun..

So ARP head studs are on order, a new gasket, and some block off bungs.. Should all be sweet by the end of the week maybe next :)

Also, might end up running some pepperpots under it yet ;-)

Mine went to Brissie, don't know if this is it. I put new carpet in mine ,the dead give away would be scorp seats on galant runners.I had interior rear blind and was very original.

Nah found out its another members :) was dnvgalant's :)

Not much happening at the moment... Waiting for money :P got Mother's Day, mums birthday Tuesday, then my 22nd next Tuesday. Hoping to have her running again the end of next week (24th).

Meanwhile I've picked up 2 195/50r15 tyres, I've just gotta buy the 2 new ones (Falken ze912), and buy the wheels :P going with pepperpots :)

I've only gotta get a head gasket, a couple 3/8" block offs, and the ARP head studs to get her running again, should be easy :) throw in the radiator, bolt on the new rims/tyres, might make my new exhaust (bought a 12t pipe bender ;) ), and she can go for a roady :)

Ya not wrong. Just don't cut any corners to get there sooner. I've done that in the past and found I never got those cut corners finished. :$

Yea I started to cut corners with my good gb. Took a step back and slapped myself. That deserves more than that, so I bought this one :) the good one (or B1 :P ), is too pretty for a daily, not to mention the paint is that thick that it chips with the slightest bump :banh:

This one will satisfy my needs to have a galant registered, and also keep me from mistreating and cutting corners on B1 :)

New wheels and tyres? Check

Arp head studs on their way! Head gasket tomorrow possibly??

Will most likely need lower springs up front (see in pic...), about 8-10" of gap and some unwanted positive camber. I don't think a 20kg head will change much... Might even need adjustable strut tops also... See how it goes :)

Also.... My logbook was approved!!! :D

 yep... May have been a factor :\

Not long guys... Got some lighting issues. Hopefully a parker bulb, and some headlights. While I'm at it I'm thinking I may as well throw in some h4 inserts instead of throwing good money at useless sealed beam :P

Then some tidying up here and there (undercoat patch for starters, then some light rust here and there, a skim of bog and a coat of paint). Will be getting some 35mm lowered front springs to even things up, gear shift boot, air cleaner (just a cheap shiny redline one maybe), and hopefully that's it :)

Quick tally so far of about $1k she owes me... Pretty cheap for a respectable daily :)

Also have a small but maybe unacheivable goal to have her ready by. The 11th of June. A mate is taking his car down the 1/4 and I wanna join him ;-)
