Left for dead 74 Coupe GT gets a new life.

Post by IncorpoRatedX »

Started life as a coupe GT with the 1.6 and 5 speed, years back this was an SCCA race car, spooled rear, caged, swapped to a 2.0, then it was sold off, left sitting and then sold again to a guy a couple of hours from me. He bought it as a parts car and let it sit in his garage, planning to rip parts off it and then scrap it so that he could finish his other car.

Eventually he lost steam and decided to sell off all his cars, I stopped by and liked the coupe, couldnt resist and I made him an offer. I had no use for the car at all but i hated to see it get scrapped, so i brought it home, which worked out better for him, it gave him a boost in funds and some spare room so he got back to work on his other coupe. As it turned out my room mate liked this car and wanted it, so it's his now. I gave him the old 2 liter and 5 speed combo that drove me across the country in my wagon. A pair of chevy V8 headers made their way into a header and the car should be running next week, then it's time to start on repainting it. An overall very cheap project that should be pretty fun.

Save from the grave. We need more guys like you IncorpoRatedX getting their buds interested in old school Mitsu rides. Bet you don't see many of these now on the road. This will be a heap of fun once you bring it back to life. And yep, this is worthy of a slot in the upcoming calendar.
