man, i just had a look at the full collection of pics you have on photobucket -has it been sitting outside that whole 6 yrs without a windscreen?
If you can bring her back to life, that would be epic. What are your plans for colour at this stage? It's a factory silver GTO, right?

Cheers natosig, as far as I can tell the windscreen is all that is missing. Hope I can get one when needed.
Yep, factory silver. It is a 1972 A55C GTO X-II. It will be staying silver, I think, but not sure on anything else at the moment, lol. Doesn't have stock engine but at least it still hase twin carbs

This is a stock, except wheels, X-II.

Thanks mate. You know what, if it was all over I really would consider clear coating over it but the undercoated panels spoil it. Or do they??

I really like the patina look. Though not glossy. I would clear coat it, but matte.

cheers

Not so sure now, after speaking to the paint shop he thinks it will lift of in under 2 years.
Also, if I use matte clear it will have a rough finish and be an ass to keep clean, plus he said it will go chalky in no time :(

So now I have spent a few days re-looking at all the GTO pics I have I am split between orange and green

Not a MR but these colours

Keeping it clean wouldn't matter with that look anyhow? I voted no, though i like the idea in principle. I don't think the patina it currently has is pretty enough- i think the l200 parked next to it would be a better candidate, for example. Also i think the patina look works best on a work-horse ie ute or wagon. Coupes should be shiney and glorious

If you're not too keen on the factory silver, then either of the orange or green would be good IMO. i'm biased towards warm colours so would go the orange but that lime green is nice too and far less common. Not that GTOs are common..

See my problem is the 16L A53H is going to be orange, the A112H is white and the A123H is blue. Green it is.

Cheers mate, I do. She is awesome and has stopped me from selling in the past during times of stress and time is dragging.
Having said that, she isn't aware of this one as yet, lol. She knows I was looking at it but not aware the deal has been done
