Lancer LC

Post by davenq »

As some of you may be aware I did a small road trip (about 250ks) and picked up Bobs Lancer today. I will post pics soon, but now it is safely home tucked in the shed (I turfed out the "runner" L200).The car is Very tidy and could easily be re=assembled and used as a daily , the missus and I are still tossing what to do, go full hog ,and resto , or tidy up and maybe a "blown" 2 l.,Rust? almost Zero,.one matchstick size on one rear window and a couple of bubbles on the rear deck...a couple of warts on the bonnet and thats pretty much it.It has had a "tape 'n' paint sometime in its previous life, but Bob has done a lot of the hard work,..credit to him.

It's a shame Bob couldn't continue with the build.
Glad to see it has gone to a good home that can complete what he started

I'll be keeping an eye on this build.

Sorry it's been nearly 2 months and haven't posted a pic, been a bit busy, looks like i have swapped my 2 l200s (minus 1 4g63 and 5sp) for a complete "spare " (rusty) Lancer hatch with most of the bits and bobs that had gone "missing" in Lancer 1,.. if this spare isn't too bad may "hemify" it for a cheap light race car (saw one at Warwick),...must update my sig pic as I don't have any of those any more...

Looks good. The spoiler is interesting. It looks like a Starion spoiler, but backwards. Looks like it should be there though.

yeh it's some form of plastic not 'glass, but I think it may be Aunger , who did the external window louvres..... I am thinking of "blinging" it up with '70's "fast food" ..what we used to call cars with the "bolt ons" but didn't help performance...... (H) ..

but it is complete and hasn't been tampered with..and has factory trim rings....
There are so many little things that you don't realise you are missing until you go looking for them.......one l200 got picked up , and I still have to strip out i.e. engine /box/thermo's .out of l200 2 I told old matey he was just getting a rolling shell..for the second one but he was cool ,...so ..2 x L200s for this?..well how often have you seen an Aunger rear louvre for a lancer?.... Well 2l is out of the L200 and it will be getting picked up soon. I just realised it's 7 months since I got this car ,..but it is still tucked up in the shed.....concentrating on other missions......Not much other progress ,I did say it was long term.,,,lol

Hmmm,...well the missus has her lancer ,it's now time to repower it......
R.E. Bobs Lancer,...the daughters partner fell in love with the missuses car ,...then I showed him the yellow one in the shed...
It was love at first sight for him and he asked if He could help and could I "teach" him about cars (He's a gamer not a car bloke)...
I just said "It's blood sweat and some dollars If you really want to do the work the car is yours"....I will try to introduce him to this site...
So project "Jigsaw" is on the cards.

Aaaaand it's four months later, old matey still hasn't picked up the other L200 (9 months now).. and we now have choices ,..n.a. 2l 5sp or 2.6 5sp.
Will probably hack the front out of the Rusty Lancer to start dummying in the 2.6 while checking clearances etc. scored a s14 charger and a 450 mech secondaries Holley ,so time to measure up.
