Progress. Dirty engine bay is dirty.
Put the 2L back in it, just to get it driveable so I'm not just looking at it sitting all the time.

Needs brake fluid+bleed, trans oil, hook up the tailshaft, exhaust, few other little things then it'll be sweet.

Drove this today. Needs a wheel alignment, interior's still in a million pieces and had to take it easy because it's missing the flywheel dustcover and battery clamp, but still.

Lol, it is a tad overdue :P
Got it going day before yesterday, was excited as a fat kid that's been given an extra serve of cake lol.

Making exhausts is a PITA. Need to fix the throttle pedal (is idling at 1.5k due to a dodgy idle fix I did when I first got the car), do the timing properly, re-solder the connections on the reverse gear sensor, reassemble the interior, find some exhaust clamps and a few other little things and it SHOULD be registerable. Should being the operative word, lol.

OK, vaccuum lines. Namely, the one for the vacuum advance. Which one is it?

I've just asked myself the question, Has webby ever had in my whole time on this forum a Scorpion that is registered and going?

I'm thinking the answer is no?

Yep, this one :P
Mind you, it's only been both registered and going for a total of three months in the entire time that I've owned it. The damn thing keeps grenading. Leaky heater core spewed the contents of the cooling system into the driver's footwell, it overheated and went all 7MGTE on me. Fixed that, a month later it spun the no.2 rod bearing due to a dodgy oil pump.
That poor 2.6 was not a very well put together engine :/

Also, dash is mcfuckled, must get a dashmat.

On a similar note, anyone got a dash clock for one of these that isn't broken? Said fragged dash has warped around mine and broken the housing.

Good to see it running but I gotta say I hate that exhaust suck back noise, sounds terrible on the street.

It annoys me as well, got no idea how I'm going to fix it.

However many monthly status report.
Drivetrain shit: Adjusted the clutch, works like it should now. Throwing bearing is noisy, which is weird because it was a few years old but still sealed in the original plastic bag thing. CBF pulling the motor to replace it, I'll get around to it one day. Put the stoneguard back on the lower half of the bellhousing. Looked at the 4.6:1 diff centre and decided I CBF wrestling with it, so that's still in the boot.
Fuel shit: Rebuilt the carb after I ran it out of fuel, haven't bothered setting the idle yet. Runs marginally better. Still need to drop the tank and give it a good flushing. Replaced the filter, but my sister's boyfriend needed it more than I did so I need to buy another one. Also replaced all the engine bay rubber lines and mounted the little vacuum canister/vapor separator thing using one of the radiator bolts so it was upright rather than on it's side.
Body shit: Poked at the rust in the passenger sill, swore and left it. A Coke can, rivets and some filler will fix it, just CBF right now. Bought sandpaper so I could sand back my GSR wang and paint it black, but my sister's boyfriend took his box of spray primers and rattlecans home with him so it hasn't happened yet. Also on the lookout for some über strong double sided tape so I can mount it, for some retarded reason my numpty of a brother hacked the bolts out of it when I asked him to sand it.
Suspension/brake shit: chopped some EL Falcon springs down to 215mm and put them in the front, looks ok, but I think I'll be needing to take another 10-15mm out of it. Brakes work and work well, that's good enough for me.
Other shit: Decided I need a new/better/non-auto radiator. Tyres won't stay up. Really needs a wheel alignment. The switch on the gearbox for the reverse lights still needs the wires soldered back on. Needs some induction noise.

Got some stuff done, at least. Needs more, but I'm considering taking my brother up on his offer and moving up to Raymond Terrace to stay with him, so yeah. Spending on this has halted until I figure out what's happening there.

Well if you move to Raymond Terrace you would only be 20 minutes from Myself and Dave (75Wagon).
We might actually be able to see this Frankenstein Monster?

BTW, you do know that Frankenstein killed its master.... is this thing going to kill you?

Don't know how I've missed this all tho time! Lol :P maybe I didn't and forgot??

So what path are you heading for with this? Jdm tuning type of thing? 13x10 -0 offset with 195s or something else?

Cheers :)

13's don't fit over the brakes, lol.
Period correct JDM streeter sort of thing with a few non-period things. 14x7's, low positive offset on the front, low negative rear, decent tyres that fit, decent spring/shock combo, GSR rear wing etc. Interior, fishnet Recaros, the current MOMO tiller, factory head deck with custom AUX-in port, decent speakers under 80's speaker grilles, digital dash if I can find one. Mechanicals, EFI 2.6, individual throttles, decent cam, custom 4-1 headers, 2.5" exhaust, aftermarket ECU, decent clutch, CBF with mucking about converting an LSD diff so I'll probably just run a locked centre with 3.9:1 gears.
TUFSIG wrote:i have a questions these cars are not exactly hard to keep on the road or get on the road, we are becoming impatient lol
The answer's easy: I'm lazy, poor and frequently lack motivation :P
Should hopefully be going and on the road in a couple of months time.

Pretty much, yeah. Although Dave's wagon is and likely always will be infinitely cooler than this POS, lol

You're telling me... lol

Scrapped the engine mods, drove a GH with a standard injected 2.6 the other day and it went plenty good enough for me. Other than that, nothing has changed, because, shock horror, I've actually been busy! lol :P
Been working on the farm, that said, other than feeding sheep, checking them for flies and moving them about, fixing the occasional fence and playing small engine mechanic when one of the pumps stops working there isn't a huge amount to do, I mostly just cruise about in the ute and shoot crows, rabbits and the occasional fox

Indeed. Might even scare the crows off for a while, found 3 half-eaten dead lambs so far this drop that've had their eyes pecked out by the bastards :banh:
Hopefully get rid of a few of the foxes too, normally when there's plenty of hares about like there is now they leave the lambs be, but between this last draft (yesterday) and the one before it (four weeks ago) we've lost 9.
Refuse to use 1080 as it's a horribly cruel way to go. Seen too many dogs die in horrible agony due to 1080 poisoning to go anywhere near the shit, so getting out there and shooting them's the way to go.

Gonna put this here so I don't forget it. Shopping list for the EFI swap.
-El-cheapo EFI Magna
-Facet pump x2
-Surge tank, whatever capacity, just has to fit in the spare wheel well and have barb fittings. Because cheap kent.
-Shitloads of 5/8" EFI fuel hose, hose clamps etc
-new clutch

Also, if anyone has a flywheel cover plate for a narrowblock Jap 5spd that they want to donate I'd appreciate it, lol
