Nope that particular d-bag hasn't got back to me at all. whatever I prefer magnums anyway I just wanted those cos he had 7" for the rear and 6" for the front.

Ive got some deep dish 14x6" magnums with good 195/60 tyres for $200 if your interested.They look more like 7" rims with the dish they have.They just need a good polish BUT I'm in perth.

the one ive seen ....the chrome brackets were riveted to gutter, it was at wreckers.

Yep been offline for about a week, so I could change my ISP.
That visor is one that needs to be rivited to the car, dunno if that changes the game for anyone. let me know if you want it.
Took the van for a quick lap of the cul de sac, runs pretty good hope to get rego next week and finish the interior.

hey that's pretty cool thanks man. looks like a million of the preliminary sketches I did before going with my current design. main reason I didnt do skull and cross pistons is i have seen too much of that action on ed hardy gear and he makes it look like trash . got my head lining in the other day I have since been struggling to make a one piece backing board for the internal sides of the van. the curve on the inside is huge and the 3mm mdf I was planning to use does not have enough flex.

three holes at bottom of bracket, is where those rivets i was referring to go in to rain gutter...stops it slipping up or down. the bolt / clamp arrangement isnt enough to hold it on...

ive played around a little bit with mdf and making it curve into all sorts of shapes, trick I use is to wet the mdf with hot watter not letting it fully soak but just long enough for the mdf to change colour then bend it to the shape you want and use a heat gun to " set " the mdf in that shape, ive done it with 3mm stuff and seems to work ok, I havent done it in a while though but I did exactly that for a friend of mine carpeted the boot in his holden gemini, it had the spare tire on the side of the boot so pretty much made a custom lid for it and then put carpet over that, 4 years later when he sold the car it was still perfect and in once piece, see if that works for you too , trying it on a " test " piece cant hurt?

tubby, why not try running several hand-bent metal brackets behind to keep the curve required and then fixing a much more flexible material to those brackets. I'm thinking something from clark rubber -or some cork sheeting maybe?

cheers for the tips guys, I never would have thought of wet molding the mdf. I had thought of metal bows but hadn't thought of a game plan yet, just been drinking coffee staring at the problem and going hmmmmmmm while I wait for my bank account to recover for another attempt
