Re: my gb
My brake master should be done today! Just gotta do the callipers, wheel studs, and reassemble the struts. Then I can put the engine back in!
Hope to have the engine in and running by the end of the month. Then give it a full service!

Re: my gb
The carbs are DHLA40 dellortos and cost me $500. But that was really cheap!
The manifold is a 4g3x specific manifold yes, unsure of it will go on belt drive engines though as I'm uneducated on those
When you find these manifolds (it's a lynx manifold), they're rather expensive. And to buy these carbs I've seen on eBay they're going for +$1000

Re: my gb
Maybe this gives you an idea. I don't know what manifold it is but it's also a twin DHLA40 setup on a belt driven 4g32 in a Celeste aka LB Lancer Hatchback. Engine is swapped for a 4g63 and sold. But if you have questions...just shoot...75glnt wrote:The carbs are DHLA40 dellortos and cost me $500. But that was really cheap!

Re: my gb
manifolds dont change from 4G32 to G32B they are exactly the same
Re: my gb
depends on what head the g37 has, carbied is the same, sadly the EFI 4G37 manifolds are different as the thermostat housing and water runs elswhere
Re: my gb
Few small updates
Got my brake calipers back. Completely rebuilt! New pistons, new pads (supplied by me), new bleeders, new seals
And finally fit my sway bar with my new rubbers and refurbished link pins
All rubbers are new except the sway bar rubbers. Try we're good anyway well, after this... V
So... Behind every section there's a story.. Right? lol
So while I was putting in the sway bar (sway bar to chassis), I thought I'd be real pedantic and set them to the torque settings... Well! The settings are 10-15lb. Where I work I use a torque wrench on every job, so I know how to use em... What I didn't realise! Is at such a low setting, the click is rather quiet. So, with what I've told above, and the fact my torque wrench is 1.5ft... I... Snapped the head off the passenger side bolt that holds the sway bar to the chassis
So after that I slept on it... The next day drilled the bastard out
Now I've got all that done, I had the great fun job of installing the new link pin bushes.... Yep.. An hour or so and a lot of F's and C's.. I got it which ended with the amazing result of this! V
So that's my awesome update for y'all
On the next episode I'll have the new struts in, new calipers on, and hopefully she'll be on her feet!

On this episode....
THIS!!!!!
And have her a bath!
This is how she sits now
I've got some pretty hecktik toe issues but nothing a twist of a spanner won't fix
Also, I need to tighten the stub axle bolt a bit more, have a bit if play in the bearings which are all new. This happens when you do things for a first time
Next up I'm hoping to get that cancer out if her!! And possibly have the new clutch on order if I get time I'll paint up more crap to look pretty
Cheers,
Mick

Re: my gb
Thanks mate
Yea I was gonna buy a new clutch while its out.. But this ones new enough so fxck it
Got oil and filter, gotta clean up the engine mounts as I painted em.. Tidy up the accessories (alternator, starter, etc). Mate the box back to the donk, paint the tailshaft, and she can go in!
Might get it all done Friday?? See what happens with the weather. My shed is too small to hold the car and engine/engine crane, so if its raining, the car will be in it with no windows

Looks good. Great attention to detail mate. I know the feeling of working on the smallest of parts for hours on end, and taking heaps of photos in the process. Lol my cameras up to around 1000 photos of parts.
Keep up the good work

Re: my gb
Yea there's no plugs in it, but there's electricals behind the dash, and where the back set goes doesn't have a drain hole... I'd rather not put her out in it at this stageScorpma82 wrote:If it rains, open up the drain plugs in the floor (assuming u have no carpet in it) and ull be able to drain the water a bit more effeciently

Don't worry, I have just over 2000 pics on my phone, 90% of which are the galant... I just post the necessary pics
Thanks guys just waiting for a thermostat gasket and a day off (tomorrow), and hopefully I'll have at the minimum, my engine/box bolted in... Fingers crossed
