I'm new here

Post by tezzz »

Hi everybody
Just checking in.
I'm from casterton in western victoria.
I bought an '84 sigma gj s.e. station wagon off ebay. ($500) from adelaide. unreg.
Only 68,000k on the clock. the interior is like new, but it had a ding in the back which is un-noticable.
The bonnet needed a thin bit of rust fixing which i did. As it was a different blue to the rest of the body
I thought I'd respray it. I took it off and put it in the shed. I got the paint code from the compliance plate and bought 5 spray cans plus undercoat. I rubbed it back to the under coat and resprayed it the put a clear coat over the top. it has a mettalic finish.
I put it back on the car and found the bonnet was the same blue it was before. (ice blue)
it seems the rest of the car was sprayed a different blue. I don't know how i can match it now.
anyway I'm off to the engine section for advice on bearing replacement.

I drive an 84 hiace campervan but i hit a roo with it. it also needs a new head gasket and the windscreen is cracked. I have another windscreen and front panel which was oxyed off another van at the wreckers.
I have to grind off the excess metal off and spot weld it on.
i thought i would buy a cheap car to drive around in while i fixed it'
now i have two vehicles to fix. i can still drive the van as the leaky gasket is not severe http://s894.photobucket.com/albums/ac15 ... l%20sorts/
