Gday Folks

Post by Skidmark »

G'day there folks,
Quick intro to say hello. Picked up my Dec 85 model sigma about 2 months ago, 2.6 lt 5 speed, duel fuel has been going well so far. A few electrical gremlins I might have to ask for help with later, but for 700 bucks (that includes tie rod end 2nd hand tyres wheel allghnment and some other stuff) Im happy. Im looking fwd to fixing up the old girl, got lots in mind but Ill just grab things as thay come up and when a got some spare cash and take me time. Great site bye the way.
Cheers

If I can in time I would like to go through the whole car, its Ok at the moment but every thing could be a lot better ,suspension (currently handles like a microwaved meat pie), engine could do with a bit more pull, body, etc etc.The car gets driven every day at the moment and I plan on Keeping it on the road for the most part,......I'll just see what parts come up.

Hi Skidmark, welcome to our forum.

Congrats on the purchase, you could have spent a lot more, & got a lot less !!

Should be a great project car for you.

"Handles like a microwaved meat pie". Love the phrase. New front shocks & get your tyre pressures up to around 32 psi should fix that. Also check for wear in all your steering joints, ball joints, front wheel bearings, & steering box.

Thanks for the welcome panda, I do like that pie line myself, I think I read it in a mag a long time ago. Cant wait to do the shocks and front end in general and Im glad you mentioned the tyre pressures ,I have been slack and will check tommorow...cheers mate

G,day there Dean, Its most possible you have seen it around,I live in Georgetown and between the wife and I the sigma is always on the go. Im down the foreshore a fair bit especially in summer so Im looking FWD to saying G'day (should mention that there would be every chance I would be in my gas guzzling land Rover with a gaggle of kids in th back seat).
cheers
