Hey everybody! My name's David and I just bought a '76 Galant Hardtop (I believe, I really don't know how to classify these things) about a month ago. I'm planning on restomodding it, putting a 4G63t in it and making it mechanically reliable, all the while keeping the vintage charms and wiles that make it a Colt Galant. Just thought I'd finally say hi! Expect me to ask a lot of questions in the future :$
I'm in the Philippines btw

Hi David. Congrates on your purchase and welcome. However, what you have is a special car in your hands. My advise is to leave it standard as much as possible and enjoy it the way it was intended to be. If you want to butcher a car then do it to a toyota or mazda. Use one of them as your project and keep the hardtop as it is. Just a sensitive resto and minor improvements where necessary. I the long run your car will be woth more than something thats been molested.

Just my thoughts.
David

Yeah I agree.... If it's a project/weekender, I'd stick with originality......I'm in the same boat with my Honda atm......the hardtop is already a unique car and won't need all the turbo/electronic/computised hardware kit to make it stand out......there's plenty of go fast bits for these cars that will the required "punch" without butchering it

Personally I'd simply stick wirh upgrading parts to make the car a bit more reliable and safer to drive (bigger wheels /brakes, upgraded suspension etc)....the slower the car goes, the more time people have to admire and appreciate it......but at the end of the day, it is YOUR car and you are free to treat it and develop it the way you like

Oh and as far as the questions are concerned..... Ask away, the answers will come
