Hi all!
just your regular old fart who can't resist rusted old cars.
I have an LC I have been trying hard to restore for years.
Not the usual Toyota you can have parts from changing hands.
I work as a lighting designer on a floating madhouse they call a cruise ship.
here's a snap of my 4 year old unfinished project

Re: Just another car freak...
hey there and welcome
what sort of resto do you have planned for this little beast? complete stock or something a little different?

Hi magenta, welcome aboard (like you don't hear that enough at work...) to S-G. Nice to see yet another Lancer hatch being rescued and getting the TLC it deserves.
Re: Just another car freak...
thanks for the warm welcome gentlemen.
The plan initially was to put a 13BREW but when taking measurements... It looked as if the gearstick would end up
where the hand brake lever is. (or it may be the whisky holding the measure stick)
I was going to make it so that the Honda driver on the street would be smiling when I look at the rear view mirror.
But I was lucky enough to get hold of a new pair of tail lights and decided... I'll repaint it yellow and drop in the 4G32 back in.
twin weber 45s... you know, "back in the day" stuff
All I need to restore it fully would be some little bits like bumper protectors, fender lights and some rubbers
Ah and the seats need to be reupped...

Re: Just another car freak...
You will find there are a heap of options available for engine swaps that are pretty straightforward. Going up 200 or 400 cc's will really improve the Lancers' driveability and can be done on a tight budget. Another budget upgrade that is worth it's weight in gold is replacing the Lancers' rear springs for Galant wagon items. It's a big improvement in handling and ride (firm without being 'crashy' if you know what I mean) but it will raise the rear a bit...
Re: Just another car freak...
