Any progress jay?
Not much over Christmas, I have pretty much taken everything off and prepped up for engine removal, still need to tie off and label the wires, I have some pics but photobuckets been playing up, I gotta say a big thank you to Affa, got some chromed rear lights, and some fender mirrors which he is restoring for me! Legend!

Yeah they're off a gto in Japan that was being split down, bit of rust which is why I've asked affa to bring them back to their former glory, I've seen previous restorations from affa and I've been impressed so we'll wait and see how they come out! The lights need a bit of work, touching up, re chroming etc, and I'm looking forward to the outcome but as we've discussed there is no rush so in good time!

Can't thank him enough! One of those guys that really goes out the way for you and you can't ask anymore than that really!

Love these GTO's, baby mustang look, super sporty interior, way ahead of the times.Hows the roof coming along?
Ive seen worse , mk2 escort with vinyl roof , once the vinyl was off big holes appeared, ended up replacing c pilars and both roof sides.

Weather hasn't been too great recently so haven't got down there, but I have been spending more time and money on parts! So Affa has the rear lights for resto I have my fingers crossed he has the fender mirrors by now as well, I've got hold of a lock set, ignition barrel and keys, an original radio, and more bits and pieces! Real happy with the radio that was a hard find!

I'm still looking for a set of stock wheels :P

The rest of the wish list is pretty much compete I think, will probably be posting spares of my own 8-)

Rubber seals wouldn't go amiss although I think I've resigned my fate for buying custom ones

That blue one is a new one to me! Looked reasonably tidy from the back as well!!!

Wow that's 3 now! Great stuff.

That Radio was a score Jay. Well done.

We're the wheels the same as Sigma GE and Celeste steelies? I might be able to sell you the Set from the Sigma if so, or was it the period alloy's you were after Jay?

RADIO ARRIVED TODAY!!! Lovely stuff!!! I believe I have an uncut console coming from NZ next month as well!!! (it'll only bring my console count to 3!!!)

Radios in good nick, could do with a fresh film placing on face panel, OR CHROMING!!!!! Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh

Just about to head on down to have a look at her, and remove my stockpile of parts from my bedroom!!!

That I don't know Chris, get me some pics of them and ill cross reference them with my gto brochure,

I have found a gto set, but again I can see money being an issue getting them to me from NZ!!!

Cheers buddy!

Oh your so right mate! I took the stockpile of parts down to her yesterday at 8pm and instantly caught the bug again!
Before I knew what I was doing I was labelling up the wiring loom!!!
That's it confirmed now, I was worried that the time apart over Xmas I might've lost the want to do it,
But one look at her and now all I want to do is get back down there!!!

Well I was going to update you all with some pics but all I have to say is......photobucket!!!
What a load of rubbish that website is!

Anyway, I received more bits today! YAY! So now I have an ignition barrel, full lock set and corresponding key!

Also, looking at my radio the silver film on the fascia is bubbling a little and I'm a bit worried it may crack and peel, anyone know if I can re-film them?

Yes, photobucket has gone to the dogs with it's new format. It worked fine before they decided to screw it up... Anyhoo, when you get a photo sharing account that works we'd love to see your progress! As for the 'film' on your radio fascia - maybe get a paint that is close to the colour and strip it back. It might be some kind of heat applied foil. Other option is to strip it back and try spray bonding actual aluminium foil to it. I've used this technique to mirror back a brake light and it worked - but it takes patience to do it wothout tearing or wrinkling it in the process.

The radio fascia looks like it's electroplated. Not much you're going to be able to do with that except get it replated. :(

Yes the battery support frame is spot welded in place, but the actual factory tray/heat shield just sits in/on the support frame.

This is just the support frame. I can take a photo of the factory tray/heat shield if you like.

How, who, where would I get something like that done?
