TUFSIG, Track Car Thing

Post by TUFSIG »

Hi Guys

Decided to get into some racing and drifting and have been looking around for a really cheap car to get me started and last night i picked it up, 1984 Toyota Corona 2lt Manual.

Plan is to thrash it round calder and if it survives maybe do some more things with it but i cant complain for 150 bucks with rego :)

PS, Toyotas are shit :D i feel a bit dirty

Looks super tidy for the money.
So are you planning on racing it in a class or just having a thrash at open days?

would have been mad if i could have got one with IRS and EFI but at the end of the day RWD Manual

Yeah fair enough. I would love to do something semi competitive but even entry level stuff is too expensive for your average working Joe.
You will have to take some vid's, would love to see it out there

Pretty sure they do the same sort of thing out at Mallala too. I have done a few on my bikes back in the day but never a track day in a car.

EFI would be easier than you think....the Corona Avante ('83 and '84 models) ran a 2.4L EFI motor with 5 speed manual (a car i was seriously considering to buy before i got into sigma's)

The IRS part......can't help you with that one sorry....but i'm curious as to what you can do with the diffs as they also run BW's...might be an option to use as an upgrade for the Sigma's if you can get LSD for them

I'm seeing these things laying around everywhere now. You now how it is when someone points a car out, you see them everywhere.

I saw a mint condition one on the side of the road on the NSW Central Coast the other day, they were only asking $500 for it.

Congrats on winning the cage BTW
