well, the midwest of the US is very up and down this time of year, too cold in the morning to drive to work without heat, too cold at night to take the car out, too cool for 80mph road trips, so, into the shop she goes...

engine will be coming out, heater piping getting ran, wiring getting cleaned up, brake system needs work, blah blah blah

Started mocking this up yesterday, as you can see I started from the runners back to the collector, opposite of how I should do it but the evo flange is divided and sits kind of weird, so the collector actually winds up being two collectors and without knowing where it would be, i needed to run the runners. It's getting there.

I also have an MK1 duck bill for it and rivet on fender flares. If the weather holds out this weekend I might make some progress on the body.

Correct, z flares, mine are ZG flares, I think 2.5 and 3 inch rear, there's a lot of sizes available, they fit our wheel wells quite nicely.

Memorial weekend marks the rebirth of the wagon. Busy weekend, got the wagon running and put 15x10/15x8 diamonds from my wagon onto the junkyard coupe.

Picked up Raptor Reed's wagon in Bellingham Washington, near the Canadian border, sunday afternoon, a month ago, we had spent 2 days getting it up and running.

Then we hit the desert, shit got HOT, so the bonnet came off.

Once into phoenix we flushed the radiator and it started running a little cooler, gave it a bath too.

Image

Image

Made it out to Pavilions car show in phoenix, 2-300 cars were running around, the wagon got a lot of looks.

Image

Tucked the car away in storage in Phoenix until we get moved out there this fall. If you use instagram and you'd like to see more pictures from the trip, just search the tag #PNW2PHX

went to a big mitsubishi meet over the weekend, took the wagon and the junkyard coupe. We recently painted the coupe.

4 hours there and 4 hours back, not a problem out of either one.

The pair in the red wagon came from my garage.
The exchange red ones that were being sent back by RaptorReed in the mail never showed unfortunately. I had to buy a pair of complete tail lights off Ebay from the US just to get the red lenses.
Now of course the issue I face is how I make the red lenses comply for Australian use (they only need appear orange/amber while flashing). I've seen yellow LED lamps for sale on ebay, I'm hoping that will work.

Back on topic, so you've got 4 Dodge Colts now, all rego'd and driving?

Any further plans for the silver wagon? What's the next step?

all four run and driver and are legal.

If you want red lens wagon tails I've got a collection going. I think I've got 3, maybe 4 sets right now.

Silver wagon has a 10 year plan. We are moving across the country to sunny arizona this year. Once I'm settled in there, the car will get stripped down to bare metal, rusted and then coated with oil and diesel to give it a dark rust look. Total rat rod style.

I'll rock that set up for a while.

Then, the engine will come out and I'll stuff a 6G72 or 6G72 turbo into it with an auto trans. at that time the engine bay will get painted.

I'll keep on with that until I save up some cash

final form will be:
rust repaired, painted metallic maroon (like our sedan but a little darker in color) work wheel centers will get gold plated.

That's been the plan for now. We'll see if it wanders in one direction or another.

Thanks!

Our sedan threw a rod out of the block of its 1.6 on its way down to AZ a few weeks ago so I swapped in a 2.6 liter over the weekend. Also went out for a cruise into the mountains with my wagon.

I know crank case ventilation is important but maby not that much.

PS Do you have any pics on the process of fitting the rear flairs? Eg Joining the inner arch to the 1/4 panel once you had cut it.
