My new purchase

Post by A112H »

So I have been looking around for a nice Scorpion for quite some time. Sadly they are either interstate, overpriced and sometimes both.
Finally I have found and bought what I hope will be a cracker.
1979 GE Scorpion. 2.6 5spd with A/C. Tidy rust free body and good shiney paint. Set of factory alloy wheels and a set of turbo mags. Needs a carby tune but I will be replacing the engine in the hardtop for a 4G63 so will have the twin Dellortos for it.
Anyway, I will get it home on the 16th so will take more pics then, these are from the ad.

Thanks guys, not sure on end plan for it yet but it will start out as my son's first car so it will stay pretty stock for now.
First plan it to strip it and give it a good going over, replacing what is needed. Up date the sound system to suit his ipod, polish and paint the turbo's, make sure everything works as it should and that's about it for now. More of a safety check / tidy up than a build. But I will start a build section once I get it home, just to document what I am doing as much as anything.

Thanks guys.
I haven't actually seen the car as yet so won't really have any details until I collect it on Thursday.
The GE is by far my favorite Scorpion, thats why it has taken a few years to find the right car at the right money. It won't be getting nearly as much detail as the hardtop but just want to make it a nice tidy classic car but will be very JDM (H)

Picked the car up last week, little bit of rust under the windscreen that will require cutting out but the rest is really good. I am on my phone and still waiting for internet at home so no pics yet, but I have taken it for a blast down the road and it goes really well.

Okay guys, got a few pics. There is a bit more rust under the windscreen than I would have liked but the interior is much better than I would have thought so it kinda evens out I guess, lol

Rust :(

This seemed like a really weird place for rust to me but Superscan has assured me this is very common :wut:

No rust

Small amount of rust on the L/H side but it has been treated (H)
Image

All complete and in pretty good condition
Image

Interior not too bad ........ especially the dash for a GE/H Scorpion

Plenty of potential there mate! Not too much rust for a mitsi...

Should come up a treat once you apply your necessary skills
