They look awesome. Now you just need the engine to make those wrap-around seats necessary. :D

I got caught out with the seats  I got in it this morning and went to put the seatbelt on, and realised that the belt clips are different sizes. All fixed now, just needed to take the Sigma belt clip from the seat and swap them over.

I also notice that you sit lower in the car with these seats.

Well the rims didn't arrive so i got up the transport company today. They are meant to be here between 4:40 and 5. In the meantime i started stripping the starion in preparation for the transplant.

Love the look of that car, :wut: err Wagon.

Love the rims, make my pepperpots look kinda dated :(

I may be off the QLD myself at Xmas. Got a granddaughter that I have never seen. Well she is only 2 :$

Weather permitting ,I will take the Sigma. Anything over 30 degrees and the Sigma wont be going anywhere. (no aircon)

if you are talking about the ugly plastic panels that fit at the side of the number plate. I dont think that model tailgate had any.

Looks better without them anyway. Notice you dont have any side mouldings. I'd leave it as is :D

A little update. The car has been sitting at the mechanics for about 2 months now while i decide it's future. I kinda spent way to much money on my holiday to New Zealand, so my grand plans have had to be downsized.

We took the head off as it was using a small amount of water, and i figured it deserved a new headgasket if i was going to strap a turbo to it. At first glance everything looked good with no corrosion, and no sign of a headgasket failure. Once i rolled it over the problem became more obvious. Take a look for yourself.
Image
Also this engine is a Astron 2 but look at the water port on the side?
Image
Good news is that it has flat tops and the bore is still like new :)

So this is what i am thinking now. To keep costs down i am going to steal the head, injection and turbo setup off my widebody and put it in Grandpa. I know it will not make huge power being only tbi and with a tdo512a, but it means the auto will stay together, and should still offer a significant power increase over the stock carby setup. This way my car is back on the road and should be fairly reliable. Also with this way i can go mpi on the widey at my own pace as more funds become available.

So change of plans again. I have taken the car from the mechanics, and am going to put the starion motor in after all. I have a bunch of mates coming over to help me pull the engine out and fit the new one over the long weekend. I figure f#ck it! It's to nice a car to just do half a job. So now the plan is to do it once do it right, and enjoy the 170rwkw the motor was making in the starion :D

I will take some pics as we go.

Organizing the fuel and exhaust system will take longer than the motor swap over.
