Unfortunately she's been on hold for a few years. Houses, weddings ect... they take their toll. Hoping to get back into it this year though. Its all about priorities, right guys?

Fix few niggling problems

Post by regina »

Decided to fix a few niggling problems leading up to Wakefield. Have never been to happy with the location of the water pump. Not only did it look ugly but also made a hell of a racket when the pipes hit the car. Also found the annoying exhaust leek. Two bolts snapped out of five, attaching the turbo to the dump pipe.

Engine out

The AuStarion has a section on the twincam conversion along with a front mount thermostat that eliminates the need for the rear water pipe.
The only other thing I would do is to put a restrictor on the front water ports leading to the head (near the cam gears) to make sure the rear of the head gets enough water flow.
I will try and find the info if you are interested.

Cheers.

Howdy all,

Thinking about getting rid of this car and just after some opinions on pricing? Has been garaged for some time and I just dont seem to get much use out of it any more. Required rockercover gasket and one brake line for it to be running. Of course it has run out of rego, so if you want it on the road will need engineering. Thinking of putting the money towards a triton or similar. Lots of spares ect to go with it also.

Cheers,
