I'm not really a fan of those particular rims (actual Watanabe's/Superlites look better imo) but they do look good on your car. you'd probably get away with stock guards if you ran 185's, but I'm not sure if there are any decent 185/50/15's available in Aus

cant drop it any more, exhaust scrapes on driveway now and also tailshaft is rather close to
the centre tunnel when 4 people are in it (read -hits the tunnel when give it a boot full)
but yeah, i'm very happy. the semi slicks do stick well to the road as well

I actually thought I might have seen you today. I'm stuck working on the house still... and will be for a bit longer.

Your car looked tidy with pepperpots, tidier with the turbo/wherrits and absolutely awesome with these rims.
I think you've lost a bit of the granny spec look with these wheels though?

I knew these wheels would look the goods. They are so close to the Konig Rewinds that I want for my wagon (if I was buying new wheels), I actually thought they were?

You've raised the bar for Galant owners.
Time to step up for the rest of us now

i know i have lost the granny spec look, but i was over people saying "yeah, thats a tidy galant"
i would rather them say, "wo, look at that galant, thats cool" etc
and when i took it for a drive today, got a few comments and plenty of looks
75wagon wrote: I knew these wheels would look the goods. They are so close to the Konig Rewinds that I want for my wagon (if I was buying new wheels), I actually thought they were?
yeah, they are quite similar (cheaper too from memory) they have the perfect offset and size for the car
i am very happy - as soon as i put them on yesterday, i had a smile on my face

Dave...
i'm trying hard to get it up to my standard - its nearly there....
it is good to hear that people like the style and way that i've done the car
makes the hard work and cash all that more worthwhile....

Those rims look great on your car. Bit of cool Jap retro look which I'm quite keen on. Car doesn't need lowering. It's already got a good stance as is.

well, time for an update, i've actually been buying quite alot of stuff
just havent been putting it on my car - am waiting for paint
got;
new rear tailight garnish
jdm datsun 510 coupe fender mirrors
nos indicator surrounds
front lip spoiler
oil cooler
sparco harnesses
new gear knob (not installed yet)
retrimmed by boot with some stuff i had laying around (sticker bombed the boot lid while i was there cause i was bored)
new tyres for the rims (rears are on the way out and same with the semi's)
new GL badges for rear garnish
all chrome strips
etc etc

here are some pics of said items....
front lip

boot trim

harnesses

wheel/interior

am now in the process of doing more things, such as tidying up the interior more
with new door trims (possibly go carbon fibre...), stripping the carpet & sound deadening and painting white
then getting the car painted (whenever dave finishes his house!),
brushed aluminium dash and re-skinned dashpad
then re-chrome my bumpers

then got to figure out how to cool the engine bay down more, have come up with a few ideas
but gotta check with engineer if they are legal or not - any ideas welcome

This car is coming along quite nicely.
A few more tweaks, and a paint job, and it should be (if it isn't already) the most desirable GD sedan around.
And probably more importantly, a Galant that non Galant owners want to own.
That's a raise in profile for Galant's in general.

Nice work 77galantv6

Strangely, I like the sticker-bombed boot lid. I gotta get my koreisha mark on the coupe soon

Also, what's the skinny on legality of fender mirrors in NSW? I assumed they weren't legal, figuring that's why all our cars had them door mounted out here.
It's something I've been wanting to do to the coupe but wasn't sure on wether or not the 5-0 would share my enthusiasm.
