Thats just plain ugly with the way the roof folds down compared to how mine was.

Id rather the white GE back any day.

The most expensive car I've ever bought was a 1984 Mitsubishi... in 2014.

Yeah this is mine that I've got a friend trying to sell for me as I'm storing it at his. I have nowhere left to leave this car.

I've been up at Coffs the past week and there is a purple GE Scorpion convertible for sale. They're asking $2500 for it . Didn't stop to have good look at it but it looked ok.

Still trying to sell mine...I honestly thought it would have been a decent investment given the rarity but I barely can't give it away. Trying to sell it for over a year now...dropped to 4 recently and got one phone call. 4 barely covers the new roof I had to get put on it. Oh well...you live and learn.

I've been told I'm not allowed to buy anymore. If I had the cash spare, and could get it past the wife I'd be all over it.

1978 Scorpion 2L Astron

Post by rogervize »

I have a 1978 Scorpion (2L Astron) which I have just de-registered.
It is stripped out and just a shell.. but this is how I have been driving it until I got unlucky.
A beautiful car.. no rust or dings..
I have done lots to it over the years so that it suits my requirements.
Some of these are:
Strip out all interior to reduce weight.
Moved battery to passenger area.
Re-wired vehicle.
TAI and wire spark leads... otherwise engine is standard except for the air cleaner.
Car is super economic at ~ 8l/100Km
New tires all round on original alloys.
mechanically perfect..
I am giving it away for free to anyone who will find some use for it.

Hi Scorpma82.
I met you and your dad around Christies when you first had the Celica convertible, you asked about the original roof key of which I aid I had one, I rang the number you wrote down , I rang it and no one bothered to return my call. But the happens I guess.

Cheers.
