GH with a EVO ix 4G63 engine

Post by LSX »

Well, I think it's about time I shared some photos. Purchased this a few years ago.
Mods are.
Forged EVO ix mivec motor ported head kelford cams
Motec m130 ecu drive by wire throttle
Mark Williams 9 inch rear end, 40 spline axles aluminium bolt through centre.
I initially had a T56 6 Spd manuel, changed it to a power glide.

Interesting combo.....how easy was it to bolt up the t56?

Any progress pics or details on that?

It was quite easy. Bill Hincher makes a bell housing to suit.
I opted for the short shaft t56 magnum. With very very minimal auto tunnel mods, the box fits in easy.

I might sell it, unsure at the moment. I don't know if the EVO 1-3 bell housing pattern is the same as 4-9

Commodore runs the long shaft. I believe the ford has short input.

I'd be keen to see some more pics of this
I'd also be keen to hear more about what's needed to install an Evo 9 motor.
Everyone here that I've seen seems to stick to the early Evo motors.

Dave...

Most people have opted for evo 1-3 vr4 as the blocks is narrow or wide and cheap enough to buy so to speak
Evo 4 onwards are more expensive and completely a different bellhousing pattern
The intake exhuast is reversed and has mivec
Would be a great conversion
