i brought off my good mate and s-g.com member, Danielgalant. When i found out his plans were to sell it as he didnt have the room for it, he offerd it to astronturbo77 and myself. When i found that out i thought about selling my boys to fund this, so i did. the night that i sold the boys i went and looked at it. Here are some photos i took of it there.

After looking around the car, hearing it running, i offerd $500 in cash money right there, safe to say i brought it! and Danielgalant is glad it went to a good home and fellow enthusiast!

ANZAC Day, Daniel delivered the Colt to my house, handed the car and keys over. First thing i did was take the plastic hub caps off!! More photo dumping time!!

I got a folder full of service history with the car, it dates from 1998-2013, an old lady Called Mrs Sonners owned the car before Danielgalant. She was delighted that i told her how the car was and that its still alive! Mrs Sonners also admitted she misses the car and i don't blame her. She said she will contact me when her son in law tells her the owner before her. I promised her she will see the car.

That's All For Now!

Also any info on A53 16L Colt Galant's would be Great!

Gave the old boy a wash Yesterday. Noticed it didn't have the passenger side badge. Looks like this

Anyway all is good. I got a call from the old lady who owned the car before Danielgalant. She told me she brought the car in 1997 of a bloke called David Marks. Dave brought it for his daughter to lean to drive in. She asked me to pop into her house to pick up the indercator lens for it today aswell.

IMO the car has been written off or damaged in its life. The driver's doors were once red. And the passenger guard has been bogged up too

Just an update on the old thing. removed passenger guard to beat out where the passenger door keeps hitting it!

Looked very odd like that...

While the guard and other bits were off, it was a good time to break out the pressure cleaner and blast some shit away! then the degreaser joined in the engine bay!

TO THE ASSHOLE WHO PINCHED THE ID TAG, A BIG FUCK YOU!

Image
Whoever fixed the guard last, it must of been bogeriffic!! also, another F*** You

Says it all...

Image
How to go from good to shit. was funny to look at!

Image
also painted a spare air cleaner lid, extra kilowatts??

Image
then the radiator support to match

Thought it was time to get some interior shots, as there is a lack in import interior shots!

Not much has happened. took it for a good 16KM drive last night. sloppy steering is annoying. Rego runs out tonight and ill leave it unregistered for a little bit but keep in the 90 day period. Got a few good photos of it too!

I have come up with a list of what really needs doing and what id like to do

NEEDS

Steering box replaced (current one sloppy)
Brake’s to be bled and looked at (also sloppy)

COULD USE

Rear leaf springs to be changed with new rubbers (Wagon springs)
Wheels to be painted (Gloss Black with Chrome nuts)
Front panels to be pulled off, sub frame to be cleaned and a lick of paint to prevent rust
Carbie to be looked at

It's been a little while since ive updated this thread...

In the past time, "Baby James" has been re registerd. I finally painted all the wheels black to tidy him up! So the night he got re-registered, i couldn't help but get him out for a drive.
I had to attend a meeting for our local Rotary club at the local RSL. Was nice to see a few people there checking him out!
Image

I've also had to modify an interior mirror from a HK-T-G Holden as the original one wast there and it had some cheap stick on one! also was a good time to fix my interior light!

Over the last weekend, I took him out for another spin! a good 41 KM drive to visit my Ex brass teacher. With 3 people in the car and being an automatic, there isn't much get go! It was nice to see his collection of Classic Chrysler's and his Mini Moke.
I also gave him a wash followed by a good cut and polish, Much better now!!

Well, strating to think about an engine swap. Bottom end seems tired. I realised a few nights ago that I brought a 4G32B when I brought my GC wagon in January. I'm more on the path of a manual conversion before December. I'm going to use it for my leavers dinner.

Here's a list of what I'd really like to do

- 4G52
- 5 Speed
- 3.23 Diff (Auto Sigma)
- Lower it
- Bodywork and respray (closed doors as ill re-do it white)
- New carpet
- 2' exhaust
- Stero
