Harry's Cafe de Wheels

Post by Nath76LA »

Hi all Sydney members,

I know it's late notice but I'm plan on going out to Harry's Cafe De Wheels at Liverpool tonight.
Just wondering if anyone else was keen to come out. Anyway I'll be out there with the Galant now it has stopped raining and the sun is out.

While I agree, there's only one weekend before Xmas and that's a little short notice. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the GT club have one last big meet lined up for this weekend, I'd like to avoid joining their meet again. It was just too big with way too many people.

I reckon somewhere early in the new year. That way I can bring the Zed as well as the coupe and show off the new motor in it

+1
early next year works for me, mid-late February would be best. Gives me time to get the Scorp back on the road, might finally make it to a meet/cruise like I've been meaning to for the last two years

You have been saying that for a while ;-)

Would anyone be interested in a proper cruise again?

Yes.
I was talking to Tre04z about this just last night.

Now that 76galanv6's car is up and running again, and I have sometime to myself again, I would definitely be up for it again.
Put up some suggestions and we'll get something going again.

Here's my suggestion:
Anyone interested in doing the Wiseman's Ferry Cruise again? We could follow something like this format http://www.sigma-galant.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=2937

That works.
Any idea on dates? If I could make a suggestion, the 21st or 22nd of January would be ideal for me as I'll be in Port Stephens/Newcastle on holidays at that point (H)

I've got my hands full this weekend doing an engine swap in the zed but probably tomorrow night I'll start a new thread and start throwing some ideas around about when and where.

The Ford XR5 crew I used to be part of used to put on some pretty awesome cruises so I might copy/paste one of theirs.

What I was going to do was throw up a new post and gather some EOI's and then discuss locations. From sydney we can go three ways (well, kind of obvious now that i think of it) north (central coast) south (south coast/wollongong area) or west (mountains)
From there we will discuss what you want from the cruise (100's of K's or close by with a good park for a feed and to shoot the shit) and so on.

This will all have to be decided by popular vote, therefore it can all fall in a heap due to lack of interest. It's all up to you guys.

I have a ridiculously busy week ahead of me but as I said, I'll borrow some ideas from some other communities I'm part of and go from there.

I can throw the topic up if you'd like, leave it up to local knowledge from there?
Figure it's about time I started to help, rather than just sit back and talk shit

Votes a cruise to Sydney. I guess Its boring for the Sydney people but gets the Numbers up from all the Northern, Western and Southern SG Members that can attend.

And if the cars not in its birthday suit, I'm in...

Defiantly up for cruise in the new year, finally got old girl though rego and they let me back on the road... Interested in any venue really Wisemans Ferry (great place, nice drive out, great for kids), Wollombi Tavern (Really want to drive the Putty Road plus venue looks great!), Wollongong (you can't beat the beach). Another possible venue from out west is Sydney International Regatta Center in Penrith (http://www.regattacentre.nsw.gov.au/index.php). Plenty of space to set up, good for kids, BBQ areas, easy to find, and would probably entice a few more Sydney Members to boost numbers plus might get some from further out west. Only problem is would have to pick date carefully as some events on weekends have a parking fee but this could also add another point of interest to the day.

Most important thing though is to pick a date early so people can work around it because we are never gonna get a day when everyones free...

Been itching for a cruise, David
