Shitbox Rally 2012

So the Shitbax Rally 2012 has been announced and it is in April.

My good mate Josh and I have just paid our rego fees and we will be starting to fundraise for the cancer council very soon.

If you dont know what the Shitbox Rally is, it is an event where each team has to raise at least $4000, pay your money to the event people, then they give you UP TO $1000 back to buy your car. The vehicles total value including rego cannot exceed $1000, if it does, you will be disqualified. You then drive from Melbourne to Cairns on a ten-day trip of a lifetime along all sorts of roads. When you arrive your car is either auctioned off or donated. Its not a race, just a fun drive.

Anyway. I would just like to thank whoever it was that let me know about this last year, and seeing if anybody else on here is doing it? If not, anybody registering for next year?

I would love it if you could help me raise the $4000 also, even 5 or 10 bucks would be amazing - the fundraising link is below.

For now i have started a thread in WANTED as i want to drive a galant on the trip, preferably GC or GD. And i want CLOTH seats!

It real does look like fun, it is for a good cause and it is right between my mate and my birthdays. We were talking about it today and have decided to make it a Birthday ritual.
Would love to represent the SG family but think a Falcon wagon might be the way to go if I can't find a good running Sigma wagon.
Plenty of time yet but as I said, it is an exciting adventure

Fairly certain all the registration have been completed hey. But i could be wrong. Ive already paid my fees.

Yeh im pretty sure thats it. I paid my 550 bucks yesterday, gotta raise 4k minimum and then airfares both ways and then paint the car etc. Gonna cost a bit.

Its time to start looking for somewhere to work on our car that we buy there. Is anyone able to let us use their tools and driveway for two whole days on April 11/12/13 depending how long it takes to find a car? We are going to just fly over, go on gumtree and hope for the best!

Bu still we only have $335 - we need $4000 - if anyone has $10 or $20 or $1000 they are able to donate, please do to..
