MAD DAY (Newcastle region) **Pics added**

Post by 75wagon »

Anyone coming?
I plan to take the wagon out for a day out. It's time to take off the car cover and bring it out of the shed.

That's a bit harsh isn't it? :o
I've seen pics, I don't agree...
Plus anyone who owns a Galant wagon rates ok in my books (H)

Glad to hear you're on board Dan.
I've missed this show for the last 3 years (the blokes at work tell me about it the week after).
The wagon is coming out (and maybe the hatch too?) a bloke at work told me today he's bringing his Sigma.

How many Old School Mitsu's can we get together for this?

It's a casual show for all those with collectable cars in their sheds, it's not about show cars (or so I hear).
Plus, it's my birthday on Sunday, what better way to spend the day then with people like myself?

Does anyone want to meet up at Swansea Macca's and drive in together?

The gates open at 8am.
We are bringing chairs and a small portable BBQ (and a few beers). So we will be set to see out the whole day

I've been told today that the Torana club meets at 7:30am at Maccas, and all drive in together.

If we want to park as a group we will also (more then likely) drive in together.
I have word that we could have up to 10 cars show up on the day

I think I may get to Maccas at 7:30am just to see what shows up.
Anyone else interested in coming that hasn't spoken to me?

Pretty sure I will come down for the day (with family in tow), but how open minded do you think thay will be about the "must be collectable car" bit .My sigs a good little car but collectable might be debatable. What do you think?

I have asked this question to the blokes I work with that go to this show every year.
They say no problem.
They assure me that all will be welcome, as they have seen all sorts of things there in the past.
Don't worry Dan, turn up, if they don't allow you entry call me and they will have me to deal with.

Well I'm as sweaty as.
I've just finished washing and polishing the hatch.
Note: Do not buy white wheels ever again if you don't want to have to pull them off to wash the insides of them too

I've spent the week polishing the wagon too
Both of them will be at the show, my wife is driving the hatch.

I'm ready to roll, bring on Sunday.

Well today went well.
Despite the chances of 10 cars showing, 4 made the show (2 being my own).
We all got invited along to the Hunter Valley Chrysler Club's next show and shine.

There were all sorts of things that showed up, Hot Rods, Customs, Classics, movie cars (the bat mobile was one) and a few Galants :P

The weather was a bit warm to start, but we found a good shady spot that saw us through the whole day. It was a great day for families and I will be attending again next year. I'll try to give more then a weeks notice next time

We were made feel more then welcome by all that attended, and 77galantv6's car certainly was the crowd pleaser of the day (from the Galant side of things anyway).

I'll upload some photos tomorrow (when I have time), watch this space.

This photo is of car with it's owner. I got talking to him about his car. He did the majority of the work himself, he told me that he spent 2000 hours building this car. The quality of the work shows.

I think that's enough pics.
I think everyone can see it was a well attended day.
@ skidmark, you would have got SIG666 in the gates no problem, shame you didn't make it :(

DeLorean DMC-12 :P
Getting parts for a GA is bad enough, but where the hell are you gonna find the Time Circuits and a Flux Capacitor for one of THEM?
