When we went last time, it cost $60.
For your $60 you get:
- A license
- and 3 ten minute sessions
1st session is a qualifying round (takes your fastest lap).
2nd session is a gridded race (based on fastest lap time).
3rd session is based on finish place from the second round.

It seems a bit expensive at first, but it's actually not that bad.

If you have a helmet bring it (or you will be wearing a hairnet under a borrowed helmet).
You wont believe how much you will sweat, it drips off you after 10 mins.
Especially trying to keep up with me :P

How are we meant to be keeping up? Are we keeping a tally of how many accidents we are involved in this time? :P

Numbers are filling fast for the first session.
Ill call tomoz and check bookings and cost etc.

And we will have to see how many we get to make up a second session
And of course those that cant make it to the GoKarts can always meet up for the BBQ

C_Fernance wrote:How are we meant to be keeping up? Are we keeping a tally of how many accidents we are involved in this time? :P
Yeah i still dont know how that worked,
Dave you were involved or perhaps caused :P a fair few of the accidents, which meant i lapped you atleast 3 times, {In the first race}
and yet you still managed to come out at the top of the list???

And Dave is trash talking already

Involved yes, caused, umm, No. Prosser, do you want to answer this one?
DanTurboLancer wrote:i lapped you atleast 3 times, {In the first race}

The first heat was about who got the fastest lap time, not who got the most laps. That's why I came out in front
DanTurboLancer wrote:And Dave is trash talking already
I only talk the truth..

You young blokes just need to drive faster. More concentrating on driving instead of talking maybe? ;-)

Thats the 8.

Ive booked it today.

If we get 4 or more people, that can definitely make it, then i can call back and book a second line up.
But i will need to know as early as possible before they book out!

I also spoke to 75Wagon and we can either meet at his house @Speers point and cruise upto thornton together.
(Let us know what time you want us to meet there earliest and at the latest Dave.)
Or you can just meet there about 10.15ish.

Then head back to his for BBQ...
Again let dave know if you cant make it for BBQ :)

Cost will be $60 for the Grand Prix.
Plus $5 for a license if you havent been there in the last 12 months...

Looking forward to meeting afew of you guys I havent had the chance to yet

Cheers guys!

Anyone who needs to know my address to meet up, pm me.
Edit: We'll probably need to leave my place at about 10am. So any coming here, will need to meet before then.

I need numbers for the BBQ? Let me know how many are coming. If there is just you coming there's no need to let me know, unless you aren't coming for the BBQ?
I'll supply food, you guys can provide drinks.
I drink Crownies BTW :P

Do we want to all put in for a case? That's $5 or so each for crownies if everyone put's in (@ about $40 a carton)? That's for 3 each if there's 8 of us?

This place books out pretty quick, so the 4 would have to happen pretty much tonite?

I stopped in to catch up with skidmark on the way home. He's not able to make it. Shame? I wanted to punish him on the track

Thanks to DanTurboLancer for organising the day

The Racing results:

174 75wagon
156 C_Fernance
144 77GalantV6
138 DanTurboLancer
102 gaPhil
90 Superscan811
78 Coltspeed2000
54 bigbird
I did take the prize for fastest lap time (closely followed by C_Fernance).
77GalantV6 took fastest lap for the 2nd race, and a win for the 3rd. Well done mate, it was welll earned.

The results don't show a fair comparison. By the 3rd race the field was more tightly packed, and overtaking opportunities were very slim. I'll give it to 77GalantV6, in the last race he owned me, I had very little. I pushed him and pushed him (plenty of taps to remind him I was there), and then after he managed to get breathing room, he walked away with a clean victory. A disappointing result for C_Fernance. After a cracking time in the qualifying round, we were all but neck and neck, .1 of a sec in it for times. He pushed me all through the second race, I thought he was going to get me, but lapped traffic didn't help his cause. I'm sure with a clean track he would have been able to force me into a mistake and he would have come away with the victory?

Everyone has tales to tell from the day. I myself have hurt my ribs after sliding broadside into Coltspeed2000 on the exit of a hairpin.

Then back to my place for a bit of food and a lot of S__t talk

No photos of the day as such, but we did manage to do a bit of work for the site today.
We measured up GJ onwards Scorpion, Galant, GH Sigma, and Starion struts, to see how the struts affect offset. I'll post up the findings and build a post on how to measure wheel offset. Will be a really useful post for those hunting for mag wheel fitments.

Yep great day
A really great bunch of blokes.
It made it easy to have a good time.

We sure do.
gaPhil wrote:Thanks Dave for all the food!
No probs Phil.
See what I mean about not buying supermarket sausages? The local butcher ones are awesome (H)
I've managed to end up with a few left over? Looks like I'm having BBQ for lunch tomorrow too

Should make this a regular occurrence, but next time, make sure Dave is "nobbled" early in the piece so we can stir him up a bit more.

Great day.

Should have been a better showing from Sydney I felt..

Best part was the BBQ and BS, it's what it's all about IMHO.

Thanks Dave for organizing it.

Cheers.

I seriously think I've broken my rib?
Everytime I move I'm suffering from shortness of breath :o

But like I always say, you haven't gone hard enough unless you've hurt yourself

My tailbone is a little sore, probably from when the car was 'bouncing' through the corners. Otherwise i'm fine. Was a great day for sure except for the phone call no one wants to get when I got to Dave's. Poor Corolla is a write off for sure. :(

No petrol in it, and front brake locking up is not a good combo for a cruise...

Galant or Lancer? lol

The Lancer was full throttle, so that just shows you exactly how much quicker the V6 in the Galant is...
