SA - Sunday 29th August - Lunchtime Cruise

Post by GB_BB4C »

It's been a while but i feel the need to get another cruise happening.
Would you guys prefer a Saturday night or Sunday day.
Probably looking around August 28th or 29th.
Suggestion's welcomed on where to go aswell.

UPDATE!!

Well its cruise time....

Sunday 29th August
Meet at ETSA Park, across the road from Bunnings Mile End.
Meet at 11am for 11.30am sharp leave heading up to Lobethal for lunch then back doing a big loop.
Hope ya can make it all.
As i have stated before, Dont care what car ya rock up in (preferably a Mitsi/Chrysler though), just come out and socialise with other members.
It is not a Cannonball run either.

That is right at the end of my annual leave, so I'll be free both days. The part I enjoyed most about the last cruise was the winding roads, so a route like that would be good. My Sigma *should* be all running by then since I'll have 4 weeks off to get it going. If not, I'll just bring the Nova again.

Sunday Cruises are cool. If I come on the next one it won't be as much fun as the sigma will be off the road - a boring old Colt will be my method of transport.

It's not boring. It's not something you see every day. I am going to bring out the new toy, 74 GB Galant.

Cannto believe that you used boring old and colt int he same sentence, maybe you need a good deal of encouragement about the finer points of the older classics, so that enjoyment might flow.

Ha ha, after a few Bay to Birdwoods in both my 68 Sedan and 69 hatch loaded up with eskies and 3 mates, slow is an understatement! Your're right though - the suspense of worrying about a badly designed but extremely rare hubcap falling off my hatch at any moment isn't boring :)

ROFL, yes I know how you feel I was lick that when I had my Humber supersnipe. But I found it took the enjoyment out of driving the thing so didnt worry about it, best thing was mine was a series 3 with the 318 chrysler block from factory in it, so bloody nice to drive along with, would go better than a chrysler built car.

Seriously though, enjoy it, that is why you got it. I love my Gazelle, most do know what it is nor why it is special, but who cares! So it is your car enjoy it!

Cheers

Well for the limited response that i have gotten, looks like ya want another Sunday cruise. So Sunday the 29th of August it is then. Will be the last cruise for the Turbo as not going to re-rego it as doing some mod's/improvments. Any suggestions on where to go.... Just looking for some locations and will endeavour to make a cruise route from that.

This Colt isn't a cream one is it?? I saw one cruising up the hill to park at last years Strath swap meet, it was full of lads and doing about 20kph, lol

Hey Jason,
I normally take my commo to swappies so I can actually buy things and get them home so I don't think I drove the hatch to the Strath meet. I could be wrong though. Maybe there is another one around!!! Here's my old girl at last years B2B:

Mike, I'm easy in regards to cruise route although something that kinda loops around is always good as you don't end up miles from home :)

Interesting! If it was several years ago I may have taken my old 2 door down to Strath for a cruise with the ex missus but can't recall the 3 door. This was my 2 door :

Oh yeah, and back on topic. I have a registered Colt with full historic rego and an updated log book that has a front end issue, a Colt that is driving wicked but my log book expired, and a siggy turbo that will be out of rego by then. Worse case scenario I'll be in a commodore but will move heaven and earth to get a mitsi sorted before I have to do that :)

Cruise over to SA. You guys should organise one. I was sick of people saying that they wanted a cruise so i took it upon myself to get one going and have done so since with help from other members. Not that hard to do. find out where some of the people are, find a location central to meet and cruise out from there.

Nice work Mike. A lobethal run may rule out the Colts but I'll be there in something, even if it's the commo!

Thanks again to Mike for organising a good cruise. I delayed taking my GSR off the road to bring it on the cruise this weekend and it had mixed results. The turnout was disappointing, especially seeing the central meeting point and fantastic weather. I really thought more peeps would have come out, especially seeing how many cool cars turned out for the Victor cruise and that day was freezing! The drive to Lobethal was cool and we looped back through Aldgate, Stirling, Ironbank and Cherry Gardens. Had a good feed at the Lobby pub and saw some cool Bikes that were there on a cruise. The GK surprised me how well it handled for a stock car, although I was disppointed at the smoke she was blowing on decel - looks like the Valve stem seals need an overhaul. Luckily the motor is coming out next weekend so I'll keep it in the shed and refresh the Astron before deciding what to do with it later on.

Yeah agreed, keep organising them Mike and I'll keep rockin up! Give me maybe 4-6 weeks tops and the GK will be back with more grunt ( hopefully sooner than that! ). If there happens to be a cruise b4 then, I'll drag out a Colt :)
