Question about organsing events

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to put up a question both to the Admin and to all members.

my question is in regard to organising events and cruises.

I basically joined up here to share chat and info with fellow Motoring enthusiasts, especially Mitsubishi Fans.
And to get together with other people from my area to go on the occasional cruise.

Im noticing that the idea of getting together for drives etc has been awhile between, but starting to build interest, which I think is great!


Now I dont want to cause too much of a stir here but i have a question.
What does everyone want from this site?

Do we want to promote the site and its members to other people and try to invite more members and even to invite interest from members from other sites and groups?

I know Mitsus have a generally focused fan base anyway.
But i havent noticed any posts on YouTube from any members of SG.com.

Please direct me to them if there are...

Do we have any members that are consitantly drag racing, and getting some good times?
Do we have any members on the rally scene that are doing well in their classes?

Are we interested in orgainsing or being in associated with any major events?

Are there members that own there own workshop that would like some extra promotion through having a website associated and linked to their business?
I dont personally but thought about the idea for others...

So I guess im asking are our members happy with just a friendly chat and swap some pics or would people be open to some more expansion?




Ok second point in relation to the first.

If I were to organise a weekend cruise.
As I am from Newcastle, I would love to see some Newy, Central Coast, and Sydney guys all get together and maybe head to somewhere like Wollombi and the Vinyards, or hit the Putty.

Would our members be happier if it is just a cruise for Members?

Would people be interested in getting photos and Video taken to be posted on the web
Like YouTube, and having the website logo Added, but only when authorised and approved by a Mod or something??


Or i have loads of mates with all different makes of cars, as im sure everyone else does, so are we all cool for them to come too?


And this is where it comes to advertising to attract new members?

And if a cruise involves other vehicles, this may include people that are members of other groups and sites. So again can introduce more promotion to this site....



Just been thinking about it.
Not sure what people are interested in, and if it would cause too much headache for the other members and site if we started advertising and holding site responsible events??

I am happy to just meet up with people for an informal gday and enjoy a drive, so no worries either way!

Otherwise I am also a member of the Westlakes Automobile Club
And going to get back into Hillclimbs and Khanacross this year.
So i thought it might be another good group event to show some support and watch a good event.

The Bulladelah Hill climb will be good and the 2 door is going in!

But i guess this directs to my question,
would people be happy to put the site name against our members postings?

I think that it should be passed by Mods first,
and realise that it may be a contested issue, but what do others think?

I think that many could be involved, in many ways and forms but its upto Members really....

And if we want to promote, are you happy to print the logo as a sticker?

Ive seen the Logo that some of the guys are using and think its cool.

TUFSIG (sorry to drop your name man, delete if necessary)
Has offered to make specified versions of the Logo, i think that is great!
and if printed off as a members car sticker, would create interest and a personal note to the site and vehicle.

As i said guys, its just thoughts, im open to being shot down and happy to just take it as it comes,
