fuel/temp gauge not working?

pretty new to the forums so don't know much about these yet
i have just come into possession to a gj sedan
and the fuel and temp gauges don't work.
works on hot days sometimes?
apparently it has got something to do with the earth.
where abouts are the earth for these located?

any previous experience with this let me know please

About 149,600,000k's from Saturn

Sorry mate couldn't help myself, get yourself a workshop manual it should have a coloured wiring diagram in it that will help you with these issues.

Yeah sorry, I missed a zero.

I picked Saturn as it seemed more fitting for the site, lol 8-)

in regards to the original issue, check the push on connector on the manifold, give it a good clean or even replace the spade lug on it if its crusty.
failing that the issue will be in the dash cluster.

connector on the manifold near the thermo housing?
herd it could be the fuel sender itself could this be true
