Fuel guage Ohms
Fuel guage Ohms
Does anyone know what Ohm the stock Galant fuel guage/sender is? My fuel cell runs 0 - 90 Ohm and I don't know if this will work with my sender or not. If not, can you buy a resister or something to make my guage work correctly?

Jason, don't know if it's the same but here is a couple of pages out of the '77 LB lancer workshop manual.
Hope this helps.

Looks good SS but sadly it means a heap of stuff all to me, lol. All I can tell you confidently about electrics is not to lick power points and don't piss on a electric fence

Re: Fuel guage Ohms
According to the insert manual it won't work as your fuel cell, 0-90ohm and the factory is 17-120ohm. So I don't think you could use a resistor. You would have to muck around and adjust the voltage regulator to suit the new one.

Re: Fuel guage Ohms
Put in an 33ohm 5watt resistor on the output of the fuel cell and you now have 33- 123ohm.
Empty will be spot on but full may show a bit low (as long as the Lancer fuel sender is the same as the galant).
Cheers.
