1st GEN EFI FINAL WIRING

Post by rob020 »

hey all

the efi wiring diagrams are hopeless... can someone help me with my wires?
i have 5 wires left over, my pump relay isnt wired to my fuel pump yet... and no power/ignition/start wires are hooked up..
its tn/m/p efi....

i have 2 red wires, a brown/yellow wire, a brown wire and a yellow/white wire any ideas which wires are which?

i think the yellow/white is for the speed sensor? i dont think i have one of those :(
brown/yellow to No.5 20a secondary fusible link? im guessing that means constant +12v?

apparantly the wire from the relay to the pump is supposed to be black/white? i dont have one of those in the bundle of wires the P.O. left intact on the loom..
i see two red wires on the diagram... but they only go to the afm/pump relay...
the only 2 browns on the diagram go to the fuel solenoid or the motor position sensor...

:banh: :banh: :banh:

cheers,
rob

p.s. can anyone identify the wires using the pinout rather than the colours? that would be so freaking cool... make it a hell of alot easier to make your own loom too!!

This is for a TN Magna, have wired 2 cars now, so it is accurate.

should i keep the purge and fuel solenoids? i was thinking of getting rid of the purge solenoid... and i read that the fuel solenoid only raises the fuel pressure for warm starts..

who does what?

cheers,

Why leave the fuel solenoid off? If it helps starting when hot - all good, if not - who cares...

Purge solenoid is a bit the same. It only purges the charcoal canister when engine revs are high and vacuum is high (ie lift off throttle), so has no real effect on driving, so just have it there.
