Indicator SOLID -- Not flashing, Relay fault?

Post by RTFM »

Hi,

Recently, my Right Side indicator no longer 'flashes' but goes on solid. I've had a look at the relays but I dont have a wiring diagram for that section of the car. It appears though that the relay that controls the indicators is a 2-pin relay, how does this work?

I identified this by removing relays and trying the indicators till I found they didnt work at all.

Should I replace the relay? I thought indicator relays were 3 pin? Have I pulled the Hazard relay instead?

Part number is : MB084667

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

When i had this problem in my Scorp it was due to a blown globe. Are they all working?

I'll have to double-check tonight, I hope it isnt something as simple as this lol.

I have a bad habit of doing things the long way...

Thanks

oh just read the 'right side only'
yea astronturbo77 is right, but is it just the front or is it front and rear?
if its only right hand, front and rear then dunno but if its just one then its just the single light itself.

Had the same problem once - it was water getting in round the seat of a globe and shorting it.

Make sure your lamp sockets are free of dirt, rust, water etc. Also make sure the globes are clean as well around the base. And the globes must be 21 watt rating for Australian compliance.
I'm here for a good time, not a long time !

thanks for the help guys, got the issue resolved.

Was a blown globe in the end, but I do believe some water had found its way into the casing. Gave it a good cleanup and made sure the unit was sealed, fresh set of globes (and a park-light that went as well) -- All good :)
