Manga Cruise control

Post by Tj. »

I'm currently on the hunt for parts to do an astron II efi transplant into my GC hardtop galant and i've tracked down a TR magna manual as a donor car.

It has cruise control, which got me thinking... How hard would it be to retro fit that?.

i plan on using the magna ECU along with TPS and everything else (a straight engine swap) so the components shoulod theoreticaly be there.

Anyone familiar with the system at all?

It's a bit 'pie in the sky' but what the hell, its worth asking.

I can't see why not. If you have a donor car, it would be much easier to take all the running gear from the Magna, and drop it into your Galant. I would recommend getting a Service and Repair manual for a Magna TR/TS. I would give it a try, and if it doesn't work right, you should be able to take it out without too much problem. If you do the conversion and forget the cruise control, you'll have to take it out anyway.

Definatley worth a go.

Might retain the electric windows and central locking gear too and see what i can come up with. I know you can get those kits from jaycar but i'll be getting these anyway.

Bit of a long shot but why the hell not. It's not like there's anything decent on tv anyway.
