help. ignition problem

Post by shuggy »

It's been a while folks.

I need your help!

I have a 4G32 and the dizzy has Sigma electronic guts with a Sigma module.

My issue is that when I am accelerating, when I reach 4000rpm the tacho launches to 8000 rpm for a second and the engine jumps a little.

The hotter the day the worse it is and doesn't really do it in the morning

I have a resistor type GT40 coil and I'm also running a condenser on the coil for radio interference.

Any ideas or help would be great!

Alternatively, what msd units at people using that I could fit?

Hmmm, strange... do the revs actually jump, or is it the tacho that's jumping? How long does the burst last? Could be a bit of faulty wiring going to the tacho...

the engine stutters and the tacho jumps. probably half a second.

it only happens when the electrical system has warmed up. Im going to try disconnecting the tacho tonight, then i will swwap the ignition box, then i will try a non resistor type coil.

I have the exact same problem at the moment. Mine is intermittent and generally under light load. Going to be a process of elimination. I am going to start with the ignition module and work back from there.
