GA Galant headlight wiring (no high beams)

Post by VGJONO »

Hey everyone, currently going through and getting all the wiring issues fixed in the GA ready for roadworthy but have run into a dead end with the headlights, i have normal lights but high beams dont work, i have had a go with the test light and i am not getting any power to the headlight while the high beams are flicked on, i have had a look for possible dead relays and fuses, cant find any relays and the fuses were replaced when i first seen the problem. any ideas?, is there any relays i missed that are nice and hidden??

Cheers

your headlight globe might be bust. try a different head light?

There are no relays at all in the stock lighting circuit - all the power goes through the switches

You may have a short in the dipswitch, or elsewhere in the wiring ?

Check if you have power at the fuse, and work your way along the wiring a connection at a time (using your wiring diagram) until you identify where the power vanishes. There is no other way to trouble shoot it, really. (Or start at the light & work your way back until you have power)

The wiring in Galants is really simple, so it shouldn't be too hard to trace
