EFI wiring / sensors

So this is the wiring diagram I am putting all of my faith in. I forget who put it up , but it looks so simple.

Only problem I seem to have with it is that the only sensor included in the diagram is the coolant sensor. What about the umpteen other sensors.??

Only sensors I am running is the coolant and throttle position as far as I remember. If you are running A/C or P/S you will need the idle up and maybe a vacuum sensor, mine has neither so I am not sure.

It was me, and it is simple. That diagram only shows what was modified to connect the Sigma loom to the TR/TS magna engine loom. The rest of the wires from the ECU are as standard. For more in-depth about it, check out my GN build thread, link in my signature.

While we are on the subject. I have two ECU's They have different part numbers.

AW335189 is definitely from an Auto (could have been a TS. It had an additional bracket on the inlet for a plug leading to a knock sensor. Not sure if the TR had this)

AW319647 This one is from a TR manual

I have read differing opinions with regards to running an auto ECU in a manual car. Some say it doesnt matter...some say it does.

If running an auto ecu there is an extra wire that needs to be grounded. Can't remember for the life of me which one though, lol

It shouldn't matter what the computer was from, just so long as the wiring is correct for the application. As Jason (A112H) said, one of the wires is either grounded or goes off to the neutral safety inhibitor switch depending n if you have an Auto of Manual you are running in the car.

OK thanks, I will edit the post regarding the ECU's

I have set mine up for a TR/TS manual, and either ECU worked. Better to be safe and set it up for manual, and use a manual ECU etc.

Can anyone tell me what this gizmo is.. Looks like a vacuum operated switch, the wiring comes from the ECU, through this switch ,then disappears into the main injector/sensors part of the wiring loom :\

I was hoping to leave that part of the wiring loom intact, because I could not see any point of pulling it apart.

I'm not 100% on it, but from playing around with TN and TP Magnas in the past I do know that the vacuum lines for the charcoal cannister are connected to a switch like this, which is then controlled buy the ecu.

Thanks Chris..I just went on ebay and bought a TR workshop manual on CD. I have a TP Gregory's, but it's not much help..

Welcome to my nightmare !!!! Actually a Haltech 500 is looking like a likely purchase. Even though there is no-one in my area to tune the thing :\

Yep, it is a purge valve. One side goes into the charcoal canister, the other into the throttle body. It opens up when the throttle opens up to burn excess petrol vapour.

i thought it switched on when the engine runs to intake the stored vapour from the carbon canister that was built up from expansion of the fueltank due to temp or fill up... and switched off when the engine is.

im looking to wire up a two step and data logger switch on the holley hp efi system.

looking for the easiest way to do it. Gonna be running a transbrake.

dont understand the wiring fully so a diagram helping me would be nice.

thanks to anyone that can help.
