Repairing paint chips

Post by SIKMA »

Hi everyone,

This isnt about a sigma but cars are cars. Im going to get my corolla back onto the road and due to the nature of myself (with cars), I am very fussy about stone chips and imperfections on car bodies. Im no panel beater but there are a large amount of stone chips and the like located in various edges of the panels on my corolla.

Some have surface rust, some dont. I bought the car resprayed and it looks like it did not receive a bare metal spray as I can see white paint under some chips. Doesnt really look like primer (I cannot be sure, Im not an expert in autobody paint and panel)???

My rear right quarter panel has a crack in it? WTF?!

Anyway, I was thinking it shouldnt be too hard to DIY repair these chips, so if anyone could provide some insight on the methods to go about it, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone could tell me whether it is normal for the radiator support panel to be wonky like that (in one of the pictures)?

p.s. not a fan of bonnet holding rods, how hard is it to convert to struts?
